Somebody tell me about the music that was used … Prokofiev, right? He did this as a USSR citizen, right? The heavy parts are really intense because of the score. Well, all parts are intense in their own way …. this was real story-telling in music. 😂🎉bravo!

Wonder who coached him. He does it very ‘dancy’ and at first it’s meant to be heavier and clunkier. I’m sure it’s the way he was taught it

At 57:30 Ms. Copeland does a full leg extension (without using momentum) up to her shoulders. I haven't seen one of those in ages. They are extremely difficult to do. Normally the dancer will bend her leg and raise it (still difficult).

I truly believe this was Misty’s best performance! Both of them are absolutely brilliant. Roberto and Misty are my favorite Romeo and Juliet’s.

After watching Obratsova, this Odile just isn't convincing to me. Yes, technically she's beautiful, maybe even better, but emotionally and let's say, acting-wise, she's just not it She acts devilish from the beginning, leaving no room for the prince to be fooled, the difference between Odile and Odette it's so obvious the prince has to be dumb not to notice. Evgenia Obratsova plays it so subtle, so innocent, that you feel sorry for the prince. I recommend you watch it.

Watching again . . . Prokofiev's score is wonderful - one of my favorites. I especially like the music for the ball, which is elegant and menacing at the same time. And the sword play! Wow! VERY convincing!

Misty has beautiful feet and excellent technique but the portrayal of 14 year old Juliet was best done by Alessandra Ferri imho 😊

I first saw Misty in the film The Nutcracker and the 4 realms and wondered what other ballets she did and I love Romeo and Juliet so this video luckily came on my home page and oh gosh she and Roberto did the story beautifully

Considering that ballet is pantomime with music and dance, La Scala gave us a wonderful, moving and convincing performance without the need for words. I loved this performance . . . and Roberto, especially. My hero!

Roberto has such an expressive face . . . all of his feelings are there for everyone to see - a fine actor as well as a great, great dancer. Roberto il bellissimo . . . Roberto il divino . . . Roberto il Magnifico.

Yasmine Naghdi was my favorite juliette check her out. But this was a beautiful ballet. Bravo to all. And that man was born to play romeo

I read some of the comments here because I knew there would be some "criticizing" of Juliet. Mind you it's not for her form, her lines, her leaps, her positioning, or any other aspects of dancing. I wonder what it could be? Anyway I thought the performance had elegance, grace, and professionalism all encased in beautiful dancing!

This would be the Netflix version of Romeo and Juliet. with a black Juliet. obviously.

А "пятаки" на балетных туфлях какие! У Екатерины Максимовой наполовину меньше, и ножка смотрится изящно, не то что эти лапти 43 размера! А хореография какая убогая! Интересно, чья редакция? I saw this last night at Ballet International Gala at QPAC. What a special privilege to see such a beautiful performance. The feeling I got when i left the theatre still resonates with me till now and will remain so for a long time and I cherish every second of it
