WOW,that looks super easy and realistic! I'm gonna try that on a couple of my N scale gons.Equally impressive were the results of how you weathered your gons .Maybe you could demonstrate how you achieved those results?

Thats remarkable my friend, most realistic scrap metal load Ive seen!👍💜😊 Looks just like our local scrap metal processing yard, output, nearby (it is road and rail served) Our shredder doesn't go that fine, but I model in 7mm (not that all that grand, its a small layout), so that should be fine enough. Thank you for sharing 👍😊💜

Great method for scrap steel loads ... or scrap aluminum as well, too!!! When the snow starts falling in Cleveland this winter, I plan on using your method for a couple of gondolas. Have you tried similar technique to make scrap piles for a recycling yard? All the best ...

How many Tyco items have you ever owned? Which ones?
@davydigger7086 ай бұрын
I have the same locomotive. Mine came in a set, called the "Rail Master 72" (because it is a 72-piece set) from 1984-1987. In addition to the locomotive, it came with a UP gondola with pipe load, Texaco tank car, BN boxcar, Frisco autorack with automobiles, and a Santa Fe caboose, as well track, a bridge and trestle, unloading terminal, telephone poles and signs, and a powerpack. This locomotive was made from 1978 all the way to 1991 (or possibly 1992), and was a VERY popular one, being featured in at least 7 sets! I am not surprised, since it is also one of Tyco's best-looking locomotives in my opinion (although the Shark Noses and steamers are hard to beat!)

Why do you need to use fine ballast vs say medium? I would never use coarse for ballast on ho scale, but just curious. Is medium that much worse?

What is a sealant? Like leak sealer? The stuff that they make that boat with the screen on the bottom? Or can I use a clear coat as a sealer? This looks sweet! I have extra toothpaste and going to try this!

Your mod for the ballast spreader is what I've been looking for as I saw my ballast goes all way past the confines of the cork roadbed and I don't want that , I want it to have a neater look & your solution is elegantly simple. thank you. Man idk how you were able to keep it in good condition my dad collected tyco trains when he was younger most of the accessories and engines did not make it but when I was old enough he gave them to me. The engines looked good but didn't run correctly. Im working on the currently but still nothing.
