Hi Clive, when you started this project and the thread was on piston heads, I recall you listed the improvements you targeted over the car that inspired it. Did you mange to get any more head or legroom (recline)?
@DPro2 ай бұрын
Well my roof line is higher than my Old GTR as my chassis is taller and the roll cage is pushed up into the body. But at the same time I have no dropped floor so head room is about the same for now. I do have a little side project for my aero testing program though once the car starts giving me useable logged data on the suspension travel at speed. The floor from the front bulkhead to the rear bulkhead is flat for now, but I have an idea that might drop the seat down 25mm and at a slight angle to produce a under body wing profile which if it works will bring the center of pressure about 400mm further forward. The MK2 chassis is looking quite different again due to the Price of G50 Turbo Boxes now going past the price point of some new Transaxles you can buy.. So a new floor design is happening because I can't help myself...

Im surprised that DIY lights are street legal. In Europe You need a certificate, iirc, even if You make only a trailer.

In some places even use of LED bulbs in the place of conventional ones is illegal.

@@jareknowak8712 strange as I'm sure they sell the RS in Europe... but none the less yes here there a little more relaxed.. I have some Lotus Elise lights that I was going to use but I think I may fit them to my Esprit now..

after watching several of those V16 Bugatti YT shows, i am 100% certain they say not to make the rear diffuser angle greater than 11° or it won't be effective. Anyway, this is more interesting to see the entire process, i appreciate you sharing your progress.
@DPro4 ай бұрын
I was told keep it under 10Deg so mine is 8deg well into the safe zone for not loosening the attached air. If you read further into it they also say going to deep at the final exit can also cause problems as the vortex's at the sharp lower edges of the sides struggle to help the upper surface of the diffuser once to deep. Without CFD or a Wind Tunnel its hard to say exactly, but a Go Pro and the old wool and tape might give me some idea how its doing. Well that and the Suspension Travel sensors I can now datalog. Hope to do a few videos on the development of the Body once I can get some real world data... :-)

Can’t complement you all enough on the quality of the build guys . Good old school airframe engineering and everything looks puka . I’ve been building and designing my own race car ( bmw E36 GTR space frame siloette) with double wishbone pushrod suspension etc , made all my own molds / patterns chassis etc I feel your frustration 😵💫. Loosing the will to live is a regular feeling 😂. Here in the UK quantum are going to be my choice for the dampers and seem very knowledgeable , helpful and a small enough company to knock up a tailor made set . I’m also probably going to get custom made silicone hose sets made for a few reasons . 1 reliability 2 neatness and 3 , it’s probably cheaper and quicker than alloy pipes and silicone bends joined together . I’ll probably end up having some BMW style quick release connectors made or cut the factory BMW connectors off the rubber pipes and the fit to new silicone ones . Talking to Viper performance UK at the moment and seem pretty good . You could probably make your own steel mandrels too . Alternatively I may print some powder 3D sacrificial cores . I have a Z-corp 3D printer I purchased years ago for lost wax casting patterns and that uses a starch based powder and binding agent. They have some content on YT , that’s how I found them . Min order is 5 sets but plan on taking to them nicely for a trial set instead of having to order 5 sets 😂🤞. Good luck with the build .

Besides banjo fittings for fuel, you can also look for o-ring boss 90 degree direct fittings. Good point on the anodizing isolation too, makes me want to double check the ground setup on the Blunicorn using the same alternator.
