Like what you did with the front bumper. Ill do the same once mine gets delivered. Sucks that it got stuck in Canada post during their strike

What's the wheel diameter for the slammed wheels with the tyre? Also does the led lights stay on if you leave them both turned on and not in use?
@Hutch_Davenport28 күн бұрын
I find it hard to believe you run it into curbs at 25 or 30 mph with out breaking a knuckle. Plastic knuckles break easily on curbs at high speeds. I've broken them on things much more expensive and well built that this RC. Concrete and curbs are da devil. Good review, I am just a chronic knuckle buster and pessimistic too. Thanks for the review.
@chibiskyrc28 күн бұрын
At 25 or 30 mph it would definitely break something, but fortunately this thing never was able to go nearly that fast in stock form 😅 It looks fast bc of its size but with the slower speeds and light weight there isn't a lot of force going into the thick plastics
@Hutch_Davenport27 күн бұрын
@@chibiskyrc lol, my bad then. It looks zippier on camera than it actually is. I always have to question when reviewers say they never break anything, especially with big brands. Lots of incentives for reviews to lie about things in the form of freebies and even cash. Thanks for correcting me, have fun racing!

Excellent video! Question. Can you turn at or near full speed on pavement without it rolling over? Pertaining to turning would this is or 4wd manta ray handle pavement sriving better. Not into bashing and rarely get to go in the dirt. Thank you!
@chibiskyrcАй бұрын
With the tires that either of those come with, it's very unlikely they'll roll over
@thunderbomb515Ай бұрын
@@chibiskyrc Thank you for the reply. I am trying to convince her to go with the fox because of the parts availability. She however is leaning towards the Manta Ray because of the 4wd.

problems with tamiya rc's like this is most of them are queen shelfed purposed, lack of parts & metal gears. seems like they wont fixed it now & for next decade.

That's just wrong that Blade (HH) did that, your assumption wasn't wrong if a standard charger says the polarity is backwards. Leave it to HH to mess around like that just so you have to buy their batteries. These are sold to beginners, that class of folks shouldn't have to worry about wrong batteries. Sorry to hear about your tough learning. Thanks for posting the video as i had no idea until I saw your video.

Just as a by the way, I bought my Sawback because I wanted a classic RC Jeep. And it was only after it arrived that I realised it had leaf springs!!! I was really happy as I was thinking of trying to convert something else to leaves! 😁

As this was from 2 years ago, I guess you prolly changed the ESC by now. 😁 Wait, I'll just check out your other vid. I acquired my used Sawback recently and it crawls pretty well with the Quickrun WP Crawler Brushed that was obviously an upgrade. Needs more weight at the front though. Yes, I will also be adding weight to the wheels, but the current tires are glued. So I'll either have to unglue them or but some others, as I want to wind some plumbers solder wire around inside the wheel centres.
@wordreet2 ай бұрын
Those tires are good! Surprised how much better even with reduced clearance! Mine got it's first day out with my sisters and a bro in-law on a stony beach and dusty dirt side road with grass and lumps at the base of a small cliff. We are all over 70 yrs old and had a blast with the Sawback, a Carisma SCA1E Range Rover, an FTX Outback Geo, (Toyota FJ) and a Traxxas Summit. Everyone had a go with everything, and I used 5000mah Nimh packs in all of them. I do want to get more weight at the front of the Sawback!

Have you driven it on a real carpet track or a foam track yet? I am curious how the shocks perform on a harder surface than your thickish carpet. It looked like it was bouncing a bit on landing. Great review by the way. Informative and showed a good bit of driving.

It's the Mini Z 4x4 course by Kyosho but it's not worth the money. It's much cheaper and more fun to make something yourself with some cardboard or foam

After about three months I have changed-out the stock front and rear diff rings. I have up graded to the hardened steel ones. Installed a light kit for head and tail lights. The body cracked near the one tail light, causing light tub to partially to pop out. Re-installed with shoe-goo and fiber-glass mess.3 out 5 stars. I love my Armma 4s Mojave Desert truck it is a fast and a tank for bashing, much more durable.

The Frog was the first release on the ORV vhassis. Not the Brat. The Frog came out in 1984. It was Tamiya's new flagship after they discontinued the SRB chassis cars. I got one in October ''84 and I still have it.
