The points table shows the utter domination of Khan in his era. No present day player has been able to replicate that.

Jansher Khan - GOAT!
@ManuelBedacarratz Жыл бұрын
First game, when Jansher was fresh, he was able to get the first game. That's enough for me. Even though he was old and slow, he was still able to beat a player ranked 20 in the world. Imagine what would have happened if Jansher played that guy when he was at his peak...

How old school was Rodney Eyles. Even in 98 that CTS Extender he is using would have been ancient. And he is playing with a towelling grip. Legend. Wish we had the quality of Aussie players today that we had back then.

Yes. Jansher ran the life out of Simon Parke. Whatever the commentators say ( and I respect them), Jansher is different class.
@petereedy60923 жыл бұрын
@@1967briano Chris Robertson played at our club in Brisbane during the early 1980s--I remember talking to him about Jansher Khan's prospects just after Jansher had crushed Rod Eyles in the final of the 1986 World Junior--Chris felt that Jansher would struggle at first in the senior ranks--how wrong he was!
@1967briano3 жыл бұрын
@@petereedy6092 Interesting. I met Robertson also but never really discussed Jansher. I met him in Wales years ago. Not being anti Aussie but the Aussies I met hated Jansher. They were a little racist but the primary reason was he beat them senseless for years. If you had the misfortune to come up against Jansher on a very good day and if you played a little below par; you’d end up getting only a handful of points. His movement was sublime. 😂
@petereedy60923 жыл бұрын
@@1967briano Yes, Jansher's movement was indeed sublime--I refereed him twice back in the late 1980s and was astonished by his ease of movement--just stretching out or even appearing to walk around the court. However, back in those days of 'generous' lets, he did appear to be hunting for strokes at times. And yes, the Aussies probably hated him because he was so dominant! I would love to be able to see Jansher against a fit and in-form Ramy Ashour--a dream match!
@1967briano3 жыл бұрын
@@petereedy6092 Yes. Fair assessment. Jansher beat Ross Norman at 17. He was world senior and junior champion. He used fish a little for easy lets but he would be too much for all of the modern players. Ali Farag’s game would be ideal for him. I saw him beat Adrian Davies 27-0 in a tournament match. He’d beat Ramy as well. Most of the top players regard him as the greatest. As does Hunt. But he may not have liked Jahangir who beat him in the 1981 World Open Final at 17.

I don't understand why Jahangir is considered the best. It should be Jansher!

I used to play with Nick Drysdale, who was Jansher’s manager for a while. He said Jansher threw matches against Jahangir so he could get the records. Jansher could have won comfortably.

Try and find out a bit more about jansher and then you would know he has no respect for any one he played ,do you know of any other world number 1 in any sport that didn't have a sponsor well jansher didn't with good reason.
@ZeeShaanJamal7 ай бұрын
@@garrysewell7693 HI-Tec, Head, DHL, Perriere & some local Pakistani company sponsorships stood as sponsors to Jansher, so what are you on about mate? Jansher never disrespected any of his opponents, especially on court - he just wasn't in awe of any of 'em or sang laurels in their honour, which was often misconstrued by the Squash media back then & Jansher's confidence in his abilities only bolstered that impression In an interview that was aired just last week here in Pakistan, he specifically mentions Jahangir, Dittmar, Marshall & Eyles as the players he respected & found to be the toughest competition - so best to keep your biases aside & take things for how they are
