Thanks very much for reviewing this. I have 7TV PULP (not played it yet…) & also picked up two or three lots of very nicely painted Innsmouth Fish Folk, Deep Ones & the like. I love H. P. LOVECRAFT short stories & am currently listening to a brilliantly voiced & “dramatised” (via chilling music, background sounds & thematic sound effects) “AUDIBLE” Audiobook rendition of “The Shadow over Innsmouth” - so this release from 7TV is right up my street! Thanks Again & hope you’ve managed to get this to your gaming table since you recorded this. ~ LOUIS C.

@@TheAverageTabletopGamers Take Heart… YOUR “pile of shame” can only be a minuscule Molehill in comparison to my own “MOUNTAIN OF REGRET.” You can have no idea what a veritable Fortune in hard earned cash I have spent 😥, & over how many DECADES 😱 - only to have almost ALL of it, accumulate into a mini warehouse of 64 Litre stackable plastic boxes & cardboard cartons, to the point where I can’t even SEE the majority of it, much less get it to the Gaming Table… To make matters worse, much of that happened through force of circumstances, onerous work & family commitments, not living in houses that had the space to use most of it (before I BELATEDLY discovered so many “Skirmish” type Wargaming Rules & Scenarios that DON’T require a lot of space OR a permanent setup…) 🤦🏻♂️ FINALLY, however, in 2017, we purchased our present, very spacious Home, that is also blessed with a First Floor Gaming Room measuring 30ft x 17ft! 🥳👍 My lovely Wife generously volunteered that it would be my space to use exclusively (especially since, when we bought our previous Home, I was happy to purchase it even though it didn’t have a suitable spare room for me - because I knew how much she’d fallen in love with it). So, *“A Wargamer’s Dream finally come true”* I thought… Except that my chronic lower back condition that had been getting steadily worse in the final years of my Career, decided that THIS was the time to take an even steeper nosedive, & I’ve been increasingly bed-bound & cursed with increasing immobility & discomfort ever since! 👎😣 So the Games Room is still lying idle… fully furnished with all of the brand new, carefully chosen & specially themed furniture that I purposely bought for it back then, but cluttered & unused, because I can’t sort out my stuff & unpack it in such a way that it’s both visible & accessible… 😔 My poor Wife is hugely overworked herself, because of her own very demanding Career & because my condition means that nearly all of the household responsibilities fall upon her shoulders. Nonetheless, she’s now very kindly offered to tackle sorting out the Games Room - along with my grown up Stepson who presently lives with us - partly in the hope that my being able to enjoy my lifelong interest in Wargaming at last, may act as an impetus to help me to overcome my chronic physical impairment & spur me on to steadily become more active once again, despite how much the debilitating discomfort saps my energy & makes me feel unduly “old before my time.” I certainly hope so… Wish me luck & I wish you well with all of your Wargaming endeavours in the meantime. 🤝 Cheers ~ LOUIS C.

@TheAverageTabletopGamers2 жыл бұрын
We haven't played it near as much as would have liked. In my opinion the game has loads of play in it, as the main limiting factor is your own imagination in terms of casts you put together. When you factor in the other flavours such as Pulp, Apocalypse, Fantasy, and also the themed campaigns like Orsa the Fearless you have tonnes of extra to fuel it. I'll see if we can get a game on the table with the cameras soon so I can finally get to use my Secret Base setup!

Good vid, I'm looking at doing a 20mm sized glider for 28mm. I'm thinking it's quite a big thing so even a smaller scale would look OK, so getting nearly two 20mm for the price of a single 28mm I think 2 that have skidded to a halt used as the deployment zone would do the job. Cheers 👍🏻

Awesome! I'm working on a Father/son Death Guard army with my 15 year old. Found that a Plague burst crawler in the back helps a lot. Also a few bloat drones to help with the fast attack. Death Guard are typically slow, so a bloat drone, blight hauler are great to help. Just found the channel and have subscribed. I have a quick tutorial on my channel for the tracks on the PBC. -JOHN

I was really tempted with this set, I have a load of x-wing tokens from art of war, but not sure I can face the crayons again. I must have done well over 100 tokens. They look great though.

I actually didn't mind the crayons bit. Once I got the technique sorted I just zoned out while watching the TV. I've since done the second set of the templates and they came out better.

I have begun my first 40k army. It was either Custodes or Death Guard, because of the fluff, been reading the HH series and such, also been playing Dark Heresy RPG. I have chosen Death Guard and especially their Pallid Hand colour scheme, as it is extra horrible imo to see these diseased warriors who look like they're futuristic perverted EMTs :) So far I have 14 Plague Marines, 30 Pox Walkers and a Noxious Blightbringer (painted) as well as Typhus, 6 Blightlord Terminators, 1 Myphitic Blighthauler, 1 biologus putrifier, 1 malignant plaguecaster and 1 bloat drone with mower (unpainted) Currently in an auction going for Tallyman, Plague surgeon, Foul Blightspawn, Plagueburst Crawler and a Chaos Rhino. The auction terminates Sunday evening. I think this blog is a great idea, especially for us newbs out there in KZbin land.
@TheAverageTabletopGamers2 жыл бұрын
Hey, sounds like you've got a nice start to the army. A good option to pick up some death guard bits and pieces is to track down cheap copies of the Warhammer Conquest magazines from a couple of years ago. I picked up a load of extra poxwalkers and cultists when Hachette Partworks did a Black Friday sale on back issues. I've actually expanded the army a bit since I filmed part 1 of the blog, so I'll be revealing all of that in later episodes. Thanks for watching and subbing!

Haven't played v2 of bolt action yet, but my gaming group played a lot of v1. We loved it (simply haven't played v2 because we haven't got back round to it yet, too many games...). we have a couple of house rules, like, no 1 man units, once a 10 man squad of germans for example is reduced to 1 man, he isn't dumb enough to stick around even if the dice/pins say he is... just removed because its too much admin, and a bit silly. The best house rule we have though is the 'Dice of doom'. Two DoD are added to the order bag which are of different colour to the dice currently in there. When the first one comes out, it means nothing, pick another dice, but what it tells you is there is only one more DoD in the bag... When that second one comes out, turn over. doesnt matter if it's the 2nd dice to actually come out. It's the end of the turn. We love this because it adds a whole level of randomness to the game. You might get a run of German dice and then the end of the turn. you might get every one getting all their units out, you might get one dice each... who knows?? We like the game a LOT more once we added that in (obviously we aren't tournament players!) Great episode guys, keep it up.

@@TheAverageTabletopGamers yeah. I got all of wave 1. Some bad molds(skewed faces/bodies, and I'm having an awful time getting the bikes handlebars on the bike. Beyond that, this has motivated me to actually build terrain because I want to play it!

Yeah the bike handlebars were a pain. I had an issue with some persistent mold release agent on my League of Fatties which ruined the paint work but that was my fault for not washing them... For Terrain, check out Micro Arts Studios as they do some nice MDF pieces which work well for The Big Meg. In the next week or so I'll be reviewing some of their Pre-painted Kokkyo pieces which were designed to be used with Infinity but which will be nice in any sci-fi setting
