@@martinread8484 absolutely -- makes it an extra bonus when spending the day at Eastleigh spoons across the road for cheap coffee and cheap food as well as half decent toilets compared to the station which are normally out of order!!

Just wondering why don't we have same situation what tgey got in usa, with long and heavy fright trains by putting another power unit in the middle so it can help it along and even more when going up steep hills

UK is a much smaller country. Towns are much closer, therefore track circuits are near to each other. The UK is set up for passenger use not freight. Their would be no room for very long freights within the passenger schedule. We do get the odd coupled train with a power unit in the center however this is to reduce the need for 2 short trains to take up 2 paths.

Good old workhorses the design has been well proven. The new shunter is in the yard I believe it starts earning its keep next week writing may be on the wall for the 08's
