Hi, thanks for the video, well presented. My car do not want to start, I accidentally started my car in second gear. My battery is new, everything on the dashbaord goes on, but when I turn the key nothing no sound. Any advise?

Podpowiesz czy pin powinien blokować wał w GMP na pierwszym cylindrze w N45? Ułożenie krzywek po zamontowaniu blokad na wałkach by na to wskazywało. Walczę od kilku dni z rozrządem i jestem blisko podpalenia tego gruza... W samochodzie przeskoczył rozrząd i przestał zapalać, na starym rozrządzie mierzyłem kompresję i było 9, 9, 11 i 11,5. Po wymianie na każdym jest praktycznie 0 i tak na oko pin wchodzi w koło zamachowe około 60 stopni za GMP pierwszego cylindra. Będę mega wdzięczny za każdą podpowiedź ;)

Hi, I want to change the timing chain and guides in my N46 engine (just preventive) it has 101.000 km. Is it really necessary to drop the oil pan? Timing guide is not broken. What precautions should I take to make sure I don't move the balancing shafts? Thx

Did this fix your issue with the car, i have a VE commodore 2007 model utility, it came up with a p0717 code this car also has the GM 5l40e transmission im just wondering if you would recommend replacing sensors like you have.

Thanks for the video I figure the pump was where and operated where it was. I work on American vehicles. But for the power steering pump pulley his it with a rubber mallet at the very least. If you don’t have one use a rag as a dampener

Unless you did use rtv silicone between the top and bottom time chain cover, it will most likely start to leak over time at the rubber that separate the two covers.

Hello! Thanks! too good Video. You say that you need to change the timing chain and timing chain tensioner after 150,000 km. Bmw tells me I never need to replace any of this. They say it lasts the entire life of the car. My daughter lost a lot of money because her Bmw 318i N43 Year model 2009, the timing chain skipped a couple of teeth. And the valves hit the piston on 2 out of 4 cylinders, when her Bmw had gone 245000 km. Thanks! from Tommy Bertilsson from Sweden

The average lifespan of this chain and guides is 150kkm in my opinion. I know bmw says something else but the chain tends to stretch and it hits plastic guides pretty hard then they crack, block oil feed and you have a catastrophic failure… preventive maintenance is the best way to go. I’ve seen original 260kkm timings but only once. All depends on how the car is used. The M series engines had a lot better chains and guides. Those were able to handle lifetime of the car. Cheers 🍻

hey! i changed chain and rails,but car still wont start. In live data,ex vanos sensor is not working, but sensor is good. any ideas? bad ecu?

Issues like that are difficult to diagnose from afar. I’d check crank sensor and double check the timing 😉

@@gorillaprojectcar yes,true. I will test compression too. But in live data ex camshaft sensor is not working,when cranking engine. Sensor is working,connector was full of oil.. problaly bad wiring or ecu. The old chain and rails were good,but changed anyway to avoid problems.
