The Scarpa Golden Gate 1 was the best trail shoe of 2023. It has great rebound and good grip. I plan on running 100 miles in the Scarpa Golden Gate 2 this year. If you see them in the store, try them on. They are great shoes.

I tried to follow the video but I cannot remove the screw. It keeps turning but does not come out. Now I cannot even tighten the screw, it just turns loosely without engaging. Disappointed with this boot design.

I respect Ueli for many of his great achievements, he is a true legend. Sadly, it was just an unforgivable shortcoming of his not to be able to provide any proof of one of the greatest mountaineering deeds ever (Annapurna south face solo). If you plan everything meticulously for years and then end up having zero pictures on the summit, no phone call, no GPS track and don't leave anything behind on the summit, that's very unprofessional and also a bit dumb. This was also not the first time he claimed stuff he could not prove. Did not learn this lesson unfortunately.

Anche nei Maestrale arancioni (il mod. lambda frame) l'inclinazione è regolabile, basta svitare completamente le 2 viti del meccanismo WALK/DISCESA, staccarlo e poi far slittare in sù o in giù, come desiderato, i "bulloni" sottostanti. Che anche questo modello avesse l'inclinazione regolabile lo ho scoperto solo dopo averlo utilizzato per un certo periodo perchè ciò non è riportato nelle descrizioni che appaiono sui siti che lo vendono online e neppure il libretto di istruzioni generico della Scarpa in versione lillipuziana è tanto chiaro in merito.

One qualm for this version since the previous, the break in and heel are definitely improved and overall good changes, but the laces loosen as I am attempting to tighten the shoe. Basically means I never quite get this as tight as I wanted as with my previous Mago where I could crank on the laces and have them stuck in place while I did up the next line and on until tying. Also, personally find the toe rubber position to be a mistake, getting more coverage over the front of the toe box but not running parallel to the laces at all. I almost never need a broader swath of rubber to get a toe hook to stay, not with these that is, but I often want to scum around for small rests and a longer patch of rubber would assist more than a wider patch, in my opinion.

The front / upper part is ideal but the heel has air no matter how low in size I go, I wish this is addressed one day 🙏
