I put the video camera on a tripod, set it to take a shot ever 2 seconds then the camera (Osmo Action 4) makes it into a video.;) The two clips in this video took roughly an hour to record..;)

Looking back on the whole pandemic, I can't help but notice how tucked away and isolated Rego Park felt during the outbreak. I rarely left it during most of 2020, with the Key Foods supermarket, Juniper Valley Park as well as the Queens center mall and various smaller stores providing everything I needed at the time.

Download UAV Forecast, it'll show you. BUT, that area now is no fly zone because of the flight path for LGA. Last time I called the tower, like 4 years ago, the said don't bother calling us. If it's a DJI drone, it probably won't let you take off anymore, but the flight path does change and also sometimes it changes the ceiling from 400ft to 100ft or lower!

This was shot with a DJI Mavic. It's old now, but i wouldn't recommend as an entry level drone more because of the price. DJI makes a few more models that are better to try as a first like the Mini or the Air..:) It is a lot of fun but check your local laws, many places make them illegal now...:(

I spent my early years from 1944 until 1956 in Rego Park. 6389 Saunders Street and went to PS 139. It seemed to be a great place to live with lots of fun stuff for kids to do, good schools, lots of nice people and great food. Then my Dad retired from 112th Precinct and we moved to Northport in Suffolk County, Long Island. Things were a lot different. Some good, some bad. Then I graduated from High School and went in he USAF and in 1961 I went to Biloxi, MS for about 6 month of School and I found out that anywhere in NY was better than where I was.

The last thing that timber wants is anything to do with this woman. They are a very docile snake 🐍 and give humans a very wide berth, if he bites you you made your own bed. If she was a mouse, Rat 🐀 or many other things, that rattler would have been silent. Say thank you for warning and move on.

There are bypass trails around all the rocks, so the dogs should be fine. South of 17A is another story, there's a rebar ladder that I don't see how dogs can get up at all.

Luckily Eastern Timber Rattlesnakes, while the largest of the rattlesnakes are also the most relaxed. They'll rattle the longest time before attacking but most of the time will just leave if not bothered. But being the largest they have the potential to be the deadliest as they can deliver the largest amount of venom! Supposedly there's a new trend among them now where they don't rattle, they just leave. I've yet to witness that behavior though..;)

really dislike the GW bridge, substandard pedestrian walkway, it's way too narrow, too many aggressive east coast bicyclists on it. but this being new york city, it's standard, the port authority doesn't give a s888 about pedestrians. really wanted to walk the long path to the giant stairs, but the few timesi make it over the gw bridge, i walk a little bit on the palisades, and give up, the hiking trail along the highway just is a bummer. i've also walked south toward hoboken along river road to see what the conditions are for pedestrians and bicyclists, and it was really sad, narrow almost non existent sidewalks.
