Hello, just picked up a copy for Christmas. Pretty interesting ideas you got going here. Wondering and hoping if there's going to be an update that shows more visualization...things like a basic oscilloscope, where the sample playhead is, where the sequencer is currently playing, the intensity and range of each modulator on various parameters. Thanks. Looking forward to creating!

@@faxinadu One suggestion I have when you make an update is to draw a black background behind the progress percentage when saving the wavetables. In this video, the progress percentage was displayed as white characters overlaid onto the green waveform section. To me, this made the progress percentage difficult to see. It would be more helpful if a black rectangle were drawn behind the progress percentage, as that would increase the contrast between the progress percentage and the background, thus making it easier to read.

I've been watching your videos since Lesson 1. Thank you so much. I have a question. In this video, select() is used. However, it is possible to reproduce it using what you have taught me in previous videos. For example, I wrote the code like this. ---------- on init declare ui_switch $switch_0 declare ui_label $label_0( 0, 0 ) declare $touched declare !switch_label[3] !switch_label[0] := "hello" !switch_label[1] := "world" !switch_label[2] := "sea" end on function set_label_text set_control_par_str( get_ui_id( $label_0 ), $CONTROL_PAR_TEXT, !switch_label[$touched] ) end function on ui_control( $switch_0 ) $touched := 0 call set_label_text end on ---------- Is it better to use select() rather than !(string array)? How should I think about the selection of code?

Hmmm. I don't really understand what this synth can do that you can't already do in the free vst Vital? Which is lighter on CPU and ressources because it doesn't need a wrapper like Kontakt8 or has that animation which doesn't provide any benefit at all? Sorry for being a little sharp here... Cheers
@faxinadu27 күн бұрын
- Animation has nothing to do with CPU, its meaningless in that regard - The synth is not Vital and not meant to be, its a sampler/wavetable hybrid - This is exactly what an engine like Kontakt brings to the table - the ability to do this hybrid approach - This synth packs very high quality effects like Replika, Raum and others What can it do for you? It is a creative, inspiring, fun instrument with a rock solid user experience, comes with tons of high quality presets and all the sampled content and wavetable is not locked and can be used in other synths.

I need a wavetable creator that can do a couple thousand cycles, for the polyend tracker, it doesn’t interpolate so it needs to be built into the table
@faxinaduАй бұрын
so literally 2000? give me the exact details and we can add it in.
@theorize999Ай бұрын
@ well the polyend tracker can use wavetables that have a frame size as low as 16 samples (lol probably rarely used) all the way up to 2048, and it doesn’t impose limits on the amount of cycles it can have, it just runs through whatever you have. I’m guessing your program would like it if it was powers of 2, so I’m guessing a setting a few options that follow that like 1024, 2048, 5096. All those would be awesome, especially if I can do small window sizes like 64 samples, because polyend tracker only has so much sample memory, I’m guessing what settings are right is going to highly depend on the table and how complex it’s trying to be, I’d be using the lowest settings I can get away with to save space. I got some help recently on tuning bespoke modules to the exact frequency needed to just record wavetables of FM and whatever else I can think of in bespoke. I’ll have to play around a bit and get back to you on what is actually usable in the tracker. I’ve really been wanting to try to do a set of low resolution wavetables with a lot of frames to just see what can be done and still be a small enough file to be used in a project. There’s a lot of room to get creative with the tracker since it’s really just playing a sample in a wavetable way it seems to me that some cool stuff could be done in the time domain that others might not be able to do, like having fx baked in and stuff
@theorize999Ай бұрын
I just found your website, I’ll contact you through email, we can talk more there, I’ll have to get you examples, I just started a new job and am short on energy for now but I should be back to normal in a few days. I mean before I talked to the peeps over at the bespoke discord I had been experimenting with getting a waveform to the correct frequency with CDP then editing it to oblivion but that introduces all kinds of phase madness, but might be useful in the right context. Anyway I’ve been driving myself semi-crazy trying to get a good consistent way to make wavetables for polyend tracker. If you can help that would be so badass

Morphing from e.g. sine to square doesn't seem very smooth, and the last wavecycle goes beyond square to something what has been wavefolded. Can this be improved? And this seems all timebased, will you at some point look at frequency based using FFT? For alias free results, Fathom VST does this.
@faxinaduАй бұрын
With what settings did you get this behaviour you describe? We have not encountered this. I am assuming you only set the first and the last shape, remember that there is crossfading all throughout. Regarding FFT and resynthesis - that is another topic, we might do something like this with an update, but our experience is that resynthesis wavetables are not inherently that interesting, depending on material of course.
@xgmodeАй бұрын
@@faxinadu I looked at your video, haven't yet tested myself. E.g. sharp corners cause aliasing. Maybe most host synthesizers will re-synthesis it there, then it's not needed in your app. Thanks for the reply.
