Terrible to model income changes within a business in the Retirement analysis step. As an example, if an S corp owner wants to increase their W2 income, I can’t model that out because it’s a subsequent reduction to their schedule E income, it’d be nice to model those changes so that business income nets out, but it’s not able to do that without overriding the whole system

I don't see many of these settings, where is your change log?

From my use of the software, the guardrails setting seems misleading. It gives the highest probability of success, but when you go into cash flow and look at living expenses, they can be reduced to unrealistic values as the years progress.

Also, who is honestly going to execute and manage the spending strategies?

Is this better than bad money guide pro? I am a financial advisor and up 20-30% for my clients this year, 50-98% last year... So this stuff just bores me. But, better UI than moneyguide for sure.

why doesn't some savings categories in the "savings tab" aren't seen under the retirement analysis tab?

No software can give you a good answer unless it considers all the future uncertainties that will impact your taxes including. 1. Future legislative changes to tax brackets. 2. Inflation impact to SS income, standard deduction, tax brackets and IRMAA. 3. Your other income which varies based on spending, capital gain or loss recognition or makeup of investment types. 4. Your longevity (widow tax trap) 5. You and spouse longevity (heirs tax brackets). 6. Legislative changes to the RMD age or annual withdrawal amounts. 7. Legislative changes to taxability of SS. 8. Potential to lose money on assets converted after paying tax. 9. Moving to a tax free or lower tax state in retirement after paying state tax to convert or moving to a higher tax state.

This software is fantastic. One thing of note. There needs to be an annuity option for a Multi Year Guaranteed Annuity. The term and interest rate are fixed, just like a CD, and the principal is returned at end of term. Interest can be taken periodically, or lump sum at end of the contract. Its not lifetime income. The annuity entries in the software assume no return of principal, so its difficult to setup a MYGA. In a taxable account the treatment can be worked around a bit, using periodic Income entries and a single entry for the year Principal is returned, while maintaining an entry for the current surrender value, updating that periodically as it increases. In an IRA or Roth IRA there isn't a work around. The Roth Annuity and Qualified Annuity categories in Investments don't work for MYGAs, and breaking these down into parts as in the taxable situation isn't an option.

I have noticed that the tool recommends Roth conversions without considering QCD cards, such that there are no available tax-deferred balances when the client reaches 70.5 in age. Is there a way to limit conversion amounts such that QCDs are possible for the remainder of plans?

I think the social security discount rate toggle should be visible by default, inline with general inflation default and the same user visibility as with the "today's dollars" toggle found in the Retirement tab.

Hello Alexus - Is this planner available to consumer (DIY)? I am doing my own planning and have used a "light" version of this planner and would like to use the one with more options.

RightCapital is so so frustrating when selling property if you want to direct the money from the sale to a specific account for say a year while you search for another. ie. HYSA (High-yield savings accounts). Give us an option on the dialog to tell it *exactly* what account to put the money into (or leave blank).
