No offense but G1 isn't played very cleanly. Elite Spellbinder has to take Collective Brutality I think to not allow him Brutality+Reanimation that turn. Taking Atraxa when there is redundancy in terms of fatties is bad imo. On the other hand once Atraxa got taken Profane should've gotten persist as enchantmenthate is expected out of a naya deck and the -1/-1 counter is irrelevant.

When I came across Pauper EDH (short PDH) I thought to myself if a Pauper HL could work aswell here we are. Are there any specific bannings or just playtesting to further determine bannings?
@haikku
@haikku 3 ай бұрын
Hi! For us this is very much experimental for now, so we decided on using vintage's banlist for simplicity's sake. We're running it as a side event with a larger annual European Highlander tournament, let's see if there's any traction after. :-)

@@haikku Yeah couldn't hurt to build one. I like some gimmicky builds for instance Pauper Poison Storm. Kind of difficult to adapt to a singleton, but still trying to gather some cards. Thanks for your reply, I will have a look further into it, since I appreciate Pauper a bit more nowadays.

@@klerkusmaximus So I actually play Pauper Highlander fairly regularly, and we tend not to use an enforced points list. I think to encourage more people to play, having an extremely small points list to start is ideal.

Arena of Glory mennee Goblineihin aika suoraan kun saa Warren Instigatorin hastella vuorolle 2. Muissa dekeissä lienee liian kömpelö.

Totta!

Hi friend! We actually mentioned this briefly in the video - excuse the Finnish. :-) I made the ruling during the game that it does indeed transform. I double-checked, and indeed the rules (CR 701.28) talk about transforming permanents, instead of creatures. Thus much to my chagrin Huntmaster does flip due to the triggered ability (which it does retain). I mostly played the Reconfig on it to not have it immediately flip. Thanks for checking, though, we weren't a 100% sure either!

Warm greets to a fellow Foglio connoisseur. 🫡 As you might've gathered, I go through the steps of how the combo functions, and how to answer it. I've noticed that the hulk combo in particular is something new players might not understand well - it's not the most intuitive thing in the world - and even seen with my own eyes experienced players tilt when comboing off, "uhh how'd this work again". Thought it might be fun to experiment with new types of content!

That’s always the most rewarding experience/ valuable insight. The thing I enjoy the most when playing rug is that it enables you to adjust your gameplan on the fly, and how you can feel the deck‘s Power when you are able to navigate the many microdecisions. And the deck really punishes inaccuracies, so you are constantly Drilled to become a better player

I am sorry, but if those are the games people are basing their opinion regarding the Underworld Breach Deck on, then it comes as no surprise, that it is still heavily underrated. Game 2 you keep a horrible hand, play Jace, the Mindsculptor (why is he even in the deck?) and Brainstorm instead of bouncing even though you are dead on board to a land. Game 3 you are light on lands, see his Wasteland and yet still decide to neither go for turn 2 Wheel of Fortune (#1 choice) nor casting Careful Study (still very reasonable and definitely better than doing nothing at that spot) when it is pretty obvious that all he can do next turn is to destroy one of your mana sources.

Hi friend! Thanks for your comment. We are a bunch of local people getting together to play some fun games of no-stakes Magic. If you're looking for optimal deckbuilding or gameplay, this might not be the place. Instead our goal is to have a good time and show off the format, hopefully bringing more people in. In fact we're quite proud of our relaxed atmosphere and meta and it has already gotten us some new players!
@thriashauser4181

@@haikku Hey! Thanks for taking the time to respond :) My initial post was in no way meant to offend either you, Tuomas or your play group. In fact I quite enjoy watching your videos because of the diverse meta and different archetypes you are showing (the pimped out decks are also a plus ;P ) I am just a bit frustrated that I have been arguing for almost two years now about the powerlevel of Underworld Breach and how I think it should be banned with people denying my claims due to "apparent weaknesses" of the deck while in fact they are mostly derived from, as in this case, relaxed and not optimized gameplay, leading to losses in games that were definitely either very favourable or at least winnable. Highlander is, even when played in a relaxed atmosphere, at its core a very competitive format (in contrast to something like Commander) and edges you have over the competition are usually small. Fully capitalizing on these advantages lead to Breach being the best deck in the format, while not playing optimaly will lead to a balanced win:loss ratio at best. If the community is presented with cases of the later most of the time, it comes as no surprise that the general consensus even among other Council Members leads to a situation were a ban is very unlikely, even though it is, at least from my perspective, very warranted. In regards to this please don't take my comment as offence to anyone involved in the video but rather as comment for people watching to put the result, especially from game 3, into perspective :) I'm looking forward to more content from your channel. All the best!
