Thanks for the video. That’s my cousin’s ranch across the river from blue heron rv down to the little bogie. I’m usually up there this month for deer season, but didn’t make it.

It will take time for the land to recover. It will not happen like in a movie, but it will happen. Please be patient.

they stocked 800,000 hatchery fish early in 2024 and that was pretty much a total loss. The water quality was not good enough, there was little food the sediment killed that too. They are experimenting but they do not know if water quailty will be good enough or if theres food. In april the dumped in another 400k salmon at this location. I get that people are crossing their fingers and hoping, But in my opinion its WAAAAAAAY to early. People want to see a salmon cross up iron gate........but its wishfull. And likely just a hatchery fish anyway

Much smaller project on the Sandusky took time to get clear. Today it is beautiful and full of fish.

Great footage of river. Whats done has been done and cant be undone. All we can pray for now is a big winter with flooding to wash this reservoir sediment away. Supposedly, CDFW and ODFW are saying salmon are spawning above reservoirs in tributary creeks. Can any locals verify this? William Simpson has some great articles out there. I pray KRRC help Residents with the liss of their wells. Be well out there.

I was all for Dam removal but it my opinion it was dome wrong . The channels should have been dredged out of sediments before dam removal. Or the very lest only removed one dam per year to allow sediments to wash down properly. That's my opinion !

I'd be interested in seeing how turbid the water is compared to how it looks with all of the sediment settled out. Maybe next time you could grab a sample with a clear container so we can see, just don't disturb the bottom while grabbing the sample. Thanks for the content.

So great to see this area so critical to wildlife restored! Once the area has had a couple seasons to recuperate, it will be stunning again. Thanks for documenting!

I don't understand what was the point of this video. You seem to be insinuating (inverted commas around 'fish') that the equipment installed to identify fish may be faulty but you don't expand on this theme, so I'm left wondering about it. Thanks for the video anyway.

The sonar doesn't catch the fish but it does allow authorities to track fish migration and provide better estimates of spawning data and populations.

Thank you. My dad used to hunt deer up river from the dam before the valley was flooded. Amazing to have lived long enough to remember the river before the dam and see its removal! I remember not being able to get my drinking cup into a feeder stream near our camp site because the salmon were so thick! May they one day return in such numbers.and the water be so pure.
