I have a 95 z28 5.7 finally found out. After a ignition/ it's was the opti' it would start run, but after 30 idling/driving die, mechanic thought maybe f.filter but, how/why do they do that ?

Hell yeah , got a 1995 corvette with super weak spark. The FSM lead me to distributor , i have it out , going to tey this test , thanks a million👍👍😵‍💫

I have this occasionally. I have noticed that it is triggered as soon as I turn left. Going to check electrical connections at wheel bearings tomorrow

These really should have had a sensor at every 120° and a switch in the engine to change over to an alternate in case one went bad. I just spray the hell out of mine with cleaner for now when it acts up. Doing anything with coolant is scary

Hey bro i have a 5.7 and plan to swap it to a 6.1. Will using a plug and play Diablo sport tuner be enough? Or would i need to change the pcm and other stuff? I would be getting the same year engine as my rt

Try doing a key relearn. Check Google how to do it. Had to do it on my challenger when I got home from the dealership.

I'm confused...So you said you are testing the opti to see if it's bad. But what are you actually testing? One from the junk yard, or the one that is still on the engine? How are you getting a spark, since the engine has to be running to get one?

Thanks so much! I have a Dodge Challenger 2015. But all Chrysler interiors are similar. My guage cover is cracked. It's driving me crazy so I'm going to replace it. Wish me luck

I’ve found this video as very insightful. I have a 96 vette that went dead after having no previous issues. I’m thinking I can check my opti by removing the spark plug while still connected to the wire and turning the engine over to see if I have spark.

Did this fix your issue on the Corvette??? You also have parts called a coil and ignition control module. Either of those quits and you are dead too!

@@geneyus6411 nope still looking. I have injector pulse at all injectors. I found that out with a noid light. I verified that the coil was firing a consistent spark. I have 40+ lbs of fuel pressure. I’m about to check the fuel pump relay and install a new fuel filter. I back probed all the connections and they’ve all checked out with the proper ohms and wattage. If the fuel pump relay and filter doesn’t work then I give up. I may swap the Opti out on warranty but I’m getting all the correct signals.

@@geneyus6411 I replaced it along with the coil. Both ac delco. I back probed the connectors and the signals are being sent. I have 2.5 volts ac at the B wire. 12 volts on both A and D that go to the coil. And at C the ground ohms out at zero with key off. The coil is throwing a consistent spark when I test by air gap with my test light. I also checked the wiring on the Opti side too. It checked out. I haven’t gotten around to checking the fuel pump relay but I will later today. I will prime up, hold pressure, crank over, and sputter a little before dying. I don’t hear the fuel pump running for 2 seconds, as suggested, after it primes. I did install an aftermarket Walbro 255lph. I may have to go back with an oem pump but I just happened to have the walbro laying around.

My 06 Charger RT will start most the time but the problem is the anti-theft system comes on so it stalls out and it keeps doing this and I can't find anything anywhere on how to disable the system or fix the problem! 😞

the same thing happened to me once when i used rattle can adhesive promotor on a pair of harley saddlebag lids which are made of hard plastic. i sprayed the promoter. let set per instructions. then i sprayed a single stage black urethane paint over it. when the urethan had dried the lids had pit marks like popped little bubbles on them. what i realized was the promoter solvents hadn't fully finished evaporating and when i applied the paint over it the promoter solvents simply floated to the surface leaving it looking like a bad case of acne. so i stripped them and used a rattle can grey primer then paint and it worked out fine. i looked at your hood and it looks like there were places that weren't sanded enough you can see some sheen on the red. also what type of paint did they use. lacquer, enamel, acrylic enamel, urethane or epoxy. what might have happened is whatever they used to thin the plasti dip could have caused the paint to lift. companies use like xylene and other harsh solvents and can react to paint. like softening or lifting. and it may not stick. almost like brushing paint stripper in place of the plasti dip. i'm looking to plastidip my brush guard on my suv. and plasti dip won't permanently adhere unless you use the plasti dip primer under it. there is also a glosser they make to supposedly make it glossy. but i read some bad reviews about it not being real glossy. im still debating the plasti dip. i think im going to use al,s bed liner. maybe. i want a rubber type product that stones and like road sand will just bounce off of. but. so far line x has been the only one thats like that. i have had line x in my old nissan p/u. no doubt its the cats meow. but their prices will bankrupt me doing it. more than i paid for the guard. so happy hunting. there are so may dam products and a lot don't give you any warnings, compatibility with what you put it over, etc. all they want is your bank account. and all they give is a crock full of excuses why it was us that screwed up. so they don't have to refund their products.

Never figured it out, sold the car, but with the knowledge I have now about these cars, I believe the issue was in the FCM connected to the front fuse box.

I spun mine with a cordless drill with the lights off to get a better look in the dark and only have 4 good ones, going to change the cap and rotor next.
