Single stage reloaded for decades with a RCBS Rockchucker. Takes forever to do, but otherwise good. Bought a Lee progressive press 2 years ago after things started reappearing on the shelves, any old port in a storm as it were, I am not impressed. The primer feed on it doesn't work well (understatement of the year). Going for a Dillon RL 550C today if they still have any left at the store.

Is the primer tray supposed to collide with the press? To ensure feeding of primers?
@reloader5235 ай бұрын
Yes..you will see a small pin on primer trough move up and down with the pull of the handle there is a indentation on press rod that shakes the primer tray to insure flow of primers don't let your primers go below 3 primers in trough you may have to shake tray by hand this system was not one of Lee's better ideas

Not only interesting but the best Lee turret press to date I'm hearing some negativity on why would you pull the lever 6 times to get one round against a progressive press that is so much faster I have progressive presses in my rotation but so many things going on with one pull of the lever I tend to use the Ultimate Press more often where you can pay attention to each pull of the lever plus I enjoy my reloading sessions more I can't give any negative reviews on the Ultimate Press its really that good! Robertpowell2746, I agree with you I load in batches of 700 to 1000 rds at a time. It got to be to much to look forward to pulling the handle 4,000 times to load 1,000 rds every 3 months. That's why I boxed up my classic press and bought a Hornady LNL. I personally can't even imagine having to pull the handle 6,000 times to get 1,000 rounds.

@@reloader523 After testing it and priming 150 9mm cases, I can say this was not worth it. A lot of times primers did not slide from the chute, they just hung at the end, but not far enough so the "pusher" would catch them. I had to really violently shake the whole assembly to dislodge it and that was not always successful. Primer tray and chute were full btw, And about 25 cases had the primer set too shallow. No idea how's that possible, as You cannot set the seating depth manually. I was extra careful not to short stroke either way. In theory it should be better then the old system with that fiddly little spring on the primer chute, but if this keeps on happening, I'll just de-prime on this and prime on the progressive press. Either way, I feel like this was a waste of 45e.
@reloader5237 ай бұрын
@Duwurf that's the first complaint I've heard on this update if I may make a few suggestions as far as primer depth is your primer spring installed over the correct primer insert ( pg.2 #2 instructions) and ( #3 ) ( #4 ) verify lock is open and ( #7 ) very important maybe back track your installation hope this helps thanks for watching!
