How do new cadets get assigned to units? Is it random based on numbers or any other criteria is taken into account?
@picsbymrmo2 жыл бұрын
Cadets are randomly assigned unless they are coming to our school to play an instrument (they go to Band) or if the student wants to ride a horse (will go to the Troop).

Character development and hands on leadership experience. These kids are learning to lead at a very young age. The things they do here I did for the first time when I was 23-24 years old (telling others what to do, counseling others on performance, how to build teams, etc.).

You watch the news and you see throngs, nay, hordes of looters and rioters every day and you suddenly become concerned not only for today's youth but for the future of our country, too. And then you stumble onto something like this video and you realize that, while the Footlocker is being looted of all their Nikes, and statues of Abraham Lincoln are being toppled, these fine, upstanding, young men and women are quietly working as hard as they can, mentally AND physically, preparing for the future. Consider my faith restored.

Is it like this on weekends?
@picsbymrmo3 жыл бұрын
No. This video is to show what goes on during a regular school day. Cadets have mostly free time after school on Friday's until Sunday night when they need to get back to studying. They do attend a parade on Sunday around noon on falls and spring (but that does not take longer than 45 minutes).

Why are there girls in the classes if this is an all-boys school? Is there a sister school nearby?
@picsbymrmo4 жыл бұрын
We have boys and girls in our school and two separate leadership systems. The boys use the military system and the girls the prefect system.
@a_true_dreamer48604 жыл бұрын
@@picsbymrmo Can I know know more information about the female education and the interactions between the two genders? Also if the boys and girls learn in the same place, why HMA marketed as an all boys school?
@picsbymrmo4 жыл бұрын
@@a_true_dreamer4860 Boys and girls attend classes together but have separate living areas. We never advertise as a separate gender school. I work on the boys side so my videos are focused on my boys. To learn more about the girls, I suggest you contact the admissions department. Good luck.

@picsbymrmo4 жыл бұрын
Not, but most kids play video games from their own rooms in their computers and every unit have a unit lounge where kids play video games and watch movies on weekends. Our unit lounge for example has a large screen and a large TV for people to do both simultaneously.

Damn. That's definitely quite a schedule and I'm sure people come out of there all the better for it, but my high school homework always took far more than 2hrs... How do y'all get your homework done in that short amount of time? Also, do they offer financial assistance or scholarships for those who would love to attend but may not necessarily have the family financials to pay for it?
@picsbymrmo4 жыл бұрын
Yes, our cadets have a busy life and they do manage to do their studies during CQ. If that time is not enough, they can request additional time to complete their work. And yes, financial assistance is available.
@Wolf-wf8po Жыл бұрын
If you are in hard classes you don’t get your homework done in time. It is just called you have to work through that last time before bed. And you can request late lights to stay up and get work done.
