thank you for your video. I have an 11 acre orchard and 73 trees. I am looking to use a set up similar to yours. I am not a farmer. Would you please tell me the size of squirrel cage fan you used. so i can get good air flow thru system.

This is kind of personal. My sister was looking for something about harvesting her hazelnut trees in Oregon and ran across your video. We were both very interested in the fact that you’re living in Bunkie, LA. Our parent lived in Bunkie from 1976 through 1991. My dad, Munson Burke, was born and raised in Cheneyville. My uncle, Emmett Burke also lived in Bunkie, probably for most of his life. I see you’re a little young to have known them, but maybe you know some older people who might have known them. Thank you for this video that popped up. It just so happens I've got a spare computerized treadmill --and a small pecan orchard of 13 pecans that I planted 15 years ago and abandoned the zinc/fertilizer maintenence on. My husband keeps it mowed beautifully. I visited the orchard for first time in 10 years. The Elliot trees are 35 ft tall.(several other varieties too). With the economy headed for serious inflation, there's much interest in returning to this nut trees hobby .Will be using your same setup. It's brilliant! Thank you again!

Thanks. I’m in the same boat. We have roughly 150 trees on 8 acres. Young orchard. We may have to try this. Thanks.

Have to commend you on that picker are they commercially available? If u made it can you tell me what is that roller that traps the nuts made from. I’m in South Africa have about 200!trees
@FinnegansFindsThriftShop3 жыл бұрын
They are commercially available. Just search for Bag-a-nut.
@cottonmather05 жыл бұрын
Turn the treadmill around and incline it slightly towards the front (the lower end closer to your table). The nuts will still roll down to your table but the remaining trash will stay on the treadmill and get pushed off in the other direction. Otherwise, I love this contraption and am going to build one myself this year.

This was a super interesting video! I thought it was very clever how you re-purposed the treadmill and created a way to clear out the trash from your crop. Thanks for sharing!

This is great, and I’m going to try something like this. I’m wondering what you do with the racked up sticks and limbs. I’m thinking they’d be great in the BBQ pit, or grinding them up for a pellet stove or generator. Good informational/instructional video. Thanks

Bunkie is a small town that you read about but you are not convinced that it really exists.If it ever had a heyday, it's certainly not today.Very sad.
