7/2024.....Short man here. 70 years and I'm only 5 foot-5 inches. I was buying my clothes in the teenager department, until I was in high school. I never got taller, and since I turned 60,...I have begun shrinking. Funny thing, I was the tall one in our family, when we were young. For a period of time I was 5 foot 6 inches. People wondered if we had custom made furniture in our house, designed for short people. We didn't. Thank god we were thin. I've met wide people who were as short as us. For fun at home I used to see how small a space I could crawl into. Suit cases and foot lockers. At one of my jobs I used to hide under the main retail sales counter. I looked pretty young until I turned 50,...some telltale signs of aging, were creeping in. Crows feet at my eye corners, a tiny wisp of grey hair. Some sagging skin came at age 60, and a slight double chin. Dating was hard, most women want tall boyfriends. I had mostly platonic relations with women, until I 35. But soon after I began dating a variety of women. I dated some who much taller than myself, we always looked like an odd couple. I've been with the same woman for a long time now, and we're the same height. My Mom and sister were only 4 foot 10 inches. Dad and I were the same height. My male buddy's would joke,....saying women are shorter when they are laying down.

BBC seriously missed a trick when they dumped this brilliant series. They decided on Dinner ladies, Miranda and all manner of turgid, unfunny comedies which now appear on Gold! Unbelievable! I have the rare DVD wich i now treasure!

What a wonderful artist. Entwinig tragedy with great respectless humour. I devoured everthing he published and sometimes I fear, that he might die before me. What then?

I heard Johnny Vaughan agreed with the critics and said it was rightly panned. Well sorry Johnny, I have to disagree, I watched every episode when it aired and it was brilliant and hilarious. I just googled Ricky Grover, Wikipedia omitted this brilliant comedy. I wonder why ? Johnny Vaughan wrote Orrible and it was the best thing he’s even done

I actually had to research whether or not Mr. Sedaris had been married and had children before realizing this was part of the humor of aging and forgetfulness that he was talking about. Yep, he got me, and this made the short story all the better! Thank you for all of your words and works. :)

How is he right? He said he is against spanking and think it’s wrong, then follows to say, spare the rod and spoil the child, thinking that spare the rod means, against spanking, that’s why Hank said, you dumb ass, you do realise that saying means you’re in favour of spanking

I agree.I think they should have one big world league and all the teams should play knockout until there are only two left then the winner of that match are the world champions for ever..The End.. they can all go hang up there boots and go and be lorry drivers or something, you know be productive.
