This should have had its assets combined with Mystic Cave. They're too similar to be in the same game but Mystic Cave always lacked something this would have provided.

OK, serious question. A bit unrelated to Hidden Palace, but related to Sonic 2’s mobile release as a whole. Why the Hell does this control layout not exist anymore? They’ve decided to update the game to give you a D-pad & 3 buttons, and worse, is the last time I played this & Sonic 1, the games were infected with ads!

When I played sonic 2 on my phone i found this zone on accident and thought it was some crazy secret thats hard to find.then i learned it was just some thing that happens to everyone when they fall down in the mobile version.

So here's the deal... the reason why you hear Mystic Zone 2p music instead of Hidden Palace zone's unused music was due to the fact that hidden palace zone's theme was NOT the theme for this stage. Mystic Cave 2p is the REAL hidden palace zone music. the music considered to be "hidden palace zone" was originally speculated to have been made to play during a possible cutscene where Sonic would use the Chaos Emeralds at the end of the stage to transform into Super Sonic. Look up "Masa Demo Unused Song" and you'll hear that this further proves that Hidden Palace Zone was originally made for some sort of situational event rather than it actually being used for an actual stage theme.

From the original? Lack of time,overall Sonic 2 was rushed a lot of concepts were scrapped,like time travel. It’s surprising that the final game was actually good.

Found this by accident about 6 months ago. With classics like Sonic I'd normally rather things be kept exactly as they were but this was a great addition, and the way they repurposed the spike pit in mystic cave 2 was perfect.

@@I.lik3.y0u You guys need to stop being ignorant and finally learn that Booyah is a west culture thing and the connotation plays a big role in synonyms. It is an american slang term so other languages don't have a word that's equivalent to it. In other languages it's not Booyah but Cool, Nice, Yoohoo, Great or Exzellent. If someone shouts Cool who in the world responds with "Cool" back? This is nonsense. When will the community finally learn this?
