Thank you for this. Very clear and precise instructions. I've just bought the pattern and am making in a Stretchy Velvet.

That sounds beautiful! Be sure your velvet has 50% 4 way stretch. Some velvets are only 2 way. 🩷

Is your TV stand the Standard or the Extra Tall one?
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC3 күн бұрын
It’s standard
@TrimzzDotNet5 күн бұрын
I do it by cutting a rectangle serging all around it cut it 1” shorter then the length of inside or shirt side, center it over the shirt seam on the inside side of the shirt, pin it on and sew all the way around it leave the bottom of it open and then sew down the middle of that triangle which would be in the shirt side seam stopping about 1” from the top you should now have 2 channels going from one side to the other basically a shape of a tight upside down U, then insert your cording up one side of the channel and down the other side and pull and tie.

Adding a shelf bra is great because I can see the bra straps peeking out from under the knots in most of the testers' pics.

I love the shelf bra idea if I’m not using a racerback bra or a strapless bra.

Hi when sewing the buttonholes using lapel pockets do you sew the buttonholes through the pocket and both layers of the lapel, as it is basted onto the seam of the lapel! Thank you I’m afraid of buttonholes!

Do you remove the basting stitch from the cuff? It would have no stretch if the gathering stitches are left in.
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC7 күн бұрын
Yes. It’s best to remove the basting stitch.

I loved this video and pattern but I wish you would say what stitch I should use ie.... hem. I'm new to sewing and maybe you did but I'm stuck. LOL
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC6 күн бұрын
You’re right! I should have said that. You can use a zig-zag stitch on your hem for stretch fabric and a straight or double needle for woven.

I enjoyed your video. I have a Sullivan table with two metal mesh drawers. Have had it for six years. Every so often I need to tighten things up on it. It is still very stable. Mine is adjusted at cutting height, and I upgraded the wheels a couple years ago. It has served me well.

What about ease? Is there ease typically built in to knit patterns? (I'm making joggers).
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC13 күн бұрын
Yes. Ease is built into every pattern. This includes both positive and negative ease, depending on the pattern. You should select the size to sew based on your body measurements and what size that falls into in our size chart. Be sure you use the recommended fabrics, as other fabrics might reduce/increase the ease due to different stretch or drape.
@PrismaticPixie13 күн бұрын
@@EllieandMacPatternsLLC but what about in terms of rise in pants. All the pants patterns I've tried don't fit me and it all seems to be a rise issue. So how do I know if I should adjust the rise to my exact measurements, or measurements + x amount? Or negative x amount?
