so envious! Are you also a flutist? I remember him visiting Taiwan once. Didn't get to attend the master class.

@@Eng2Music Yes. he has a very intense presence. He advised everybody to twist their head joint towards themselves, clockwise, to get a more effortless tone. that was his most effective piece of advice that works for all flute players the fastest. it goes hand in hand with what he spent the most time on, which is being physically loose and relaxed when playing--a tense diaphragm begets a stressed tone. relaxed posture allows relaxed tone. the stress doesn't help when it comes to sound production, so breathe easy. the trick of twisting the tone hole closer to your chin makes it so your posture and embouchure are less taxing on your body, so it is all the same stuff he teaches. next up, when I looked this up, was supposed to be maya by Ian Clarke. I'll do that now. :)
