Thanks for the video...not just flight simulators, then!!! I also often play with driving simulators, it's my second passion, after flight simulators. I often play NFS SHIFT 2, Project Cars (1,2,3), Automobilista 2 and all the latest rallies. I don't use the steering wheel, it seems rather unnatural to me, but I get along well with the gamepad. I almost never follow the career modes, I instead like to run single races on the most varied tracks, to see if I can improve my times, or at least go faster than the AI opponents. Lately I also installed Forza Motorsport, only to then unfortunately realize that my PC is too old to support it, the game doesn't even start. Maybe I'll try later with the old Forza Motorsport 7, since it came out a few years ago it could work on my PC. No problem with Forza Horizon 4, however, it runs perfectly with medium details, wonderful game. And since it's set in England, if you see someone speeding through the countryside, maybe in the right lane instead of the left, it could be me... Hi. Forse proverò in seguito con il vecchio Forza Motorsport 7, essendo uscito qualche anno fa potrebbe funzionare sul mio pc. Nessun problema invece con Forza Horizon 4, gira alla perfezione con i dettagli medi, gioco stupendo. E siccome è ambientato in Inghilterra, se vedi sfrecciare qualcuno a tutta velocità in campagna, magari sulla corsia di destra invece che a sinistra, potrei essere io ... Ciao.

Good morning great to hear from you… Yes, driving and also sometimes VR games too, decided that growing up even at 62 years old is not for me. My Xbox is my go to after the flight sim for fun. The X (and to some extent the S) will run MSFS24 and Forza, GRID, Assetto etc - these clips were recorded on my Xbox. It is about cheaper than a fast PC and with the G920 or a HOTAS joystick it is a great game station. Thanks for your consistent support and feedback the interesting my videos always makes me smile and makes the creation worthwhile. You know I still do not understand something. All the KZbin’s have a title, if it is not click bait it is to let you know what the video is about. Right? Buy then I start to give it a watch..and the talking head tells me, once again, what the video will be about. And sometimes they do it several times before they do it. Get’s pretty boring. Sometimes they stop in the middle of their explanation to tell us about future, unmade videos they are planning. I must confess I get lost. Thanks for your video.

@LS-zo9iw as I said the settings will be unique to the game you are using it with - start the game and then select the options or setting menu within the game. If it is not showing up at all on the Xbox then try a different usb port.

My light on the wheel is not turning white and on the adapter cord it has light on it that should light up and I think that’s why my wheel is not turning on I ordered a new cable on Amazon hopefully it fixes the problem

Let me know how you get on hope it fixes it. If there is no light at all either on the adapter nor the wheel always worth checking the fuse in the plug(s) - if there is an extension lead consider swapping that out - also (random) check the plug socket with another appliance to make sure a fuse has not tripped - good luck 🤞

Hi, and thanks for your videos, as always ... I see that you have installed FS2024, and then I ask you if you notice any particular differences or improvements compared to FS2020. I have seen several videos here on KZbin about FS2024, but it doesn't seem to me that there are big differences with the previous one regarding graphics. Maybe the new one is more optimized and runs better, or it is still "immature" ... I would like your opinion ... what do you think, is it worth it? Thanks

Great to hear from you and thanks again for all of your thoughts and tremendous support, very much appreciated. I have tried a few bits in MSFS2024 and in short I would say it is worth it. In my opinion the menu structure is clearer, I like the weekly challenges and Career Mode looks interesting though I have not tried it yet. Sorry to hear that - this wheel can be a nightmare to connect - hence the views and comments on this video over the past few years. Go through methodically - check the fuse or extension cable and ALL connections, reply the USB into a different socket - directly into the console if you have been using a hub. Also, weirdly I found sometimes that if I started the game with the controller it did not pick up the wheel - had to use the buttons on the wheel to launch then ok. Finally and frustratingly some people have reported a wire inside that can work loose with use - Logitech support is the best answer they are apparently quite helpful ( or at least were) - good luck it is annoying when gadgets don’t want to work - let me know if you fix it?

Hiya same procedure go through all the connections for power and the plug fuse - if you use and extension lead swap that. Try a different USB port too. Some people have said when all that fails it might be a loose wire and they have contacted Logitech support - good luck let me know how you get on?

It's a lovely aircraft, well worth restoring to its former glory. My uncle learned to fly in one of these just after WW2, and I still have his Pilots Handling Notes. Such a shame no-one has made an Auster for MSFS, though if memory serves there was a freeware version for FSX.

No, it sounds remarkably docile and quirk-free, with quite amazing short field ability. It flies off at 35 knots with the first position of flap, and has a final approach speed of 43 knots which can be reduced to 35 knots if necessary. Stalls are straightforward with no tendency to drop a wing, and although spinning is forbidden without a Sutton harness and strengthened seats, it too is straightforward and easily recovered. The only negative I can find is poor forward visibiity during taxi...you have to S turn. It must have been a very nice plane to train in. Quite economical too: at 2,000 RPM and 69 knots it will do 19 miles on one gallon of fuel, which I think is better than a Cessna 152.

Just thought I'd let you know a freeware Auster Autocrat for MSFS 2020/24 recently appeared on Flightsim to. One of the included liveries is similar to the aircraft you're restoring. The graphics are quite good for freeware and the flight model is well reviewed by the owner of a Beagle Terrier, a very similar aircraft.

Some people have said there may be a loose or worn wire problem inside the wheel - suggest getting hold of Logitech support they are very helpful - appreciate how frustrating gadgets can be when they do not do what they are supposed to.

Fair question - long answer…. I did have to correct quite quickly as I mis-judged the approach a little. I have never flown a small jet in real life so for jest I could not be sure. For the Tomahawk and the Cherokee, ideally you should not be turning more than 15 degrees when in a climb or descent as you have less lift in the wings. If you have enough speed then a tighter turn is Ok when needed and up to 30 degrees for lower duration turns is sustainable as long as you watch your speed. Tighter turns whether in a descent of not risk losing the wing and spiralling down - obviously to be avoided. My experience is the the aim is pretty accurate as long as you do not have too many assists activated - mine is all set to ‘realistic’ settings. Short answer is Yes I think it is though to be avoided lol.

I'm pretty new to flying in sims, but from my research, it seems that even though the planes are technically capable of major bank angles, pilots in real life generally avoid going too far. I'm still trying to understand why, to the specifics. Maybe the plane would be more vulnerable to wind gusts, or maybe it would me more difficult to recover from any failure and decrease the margin for human errors. Anyway, thanks again!

@awhifaw yep the wings lose lift the higher the bank angle and therefore combined with losing speed you can either stall or spin or both! My instructor was very clear 15 degree turn max in climb or descent 30 degree max in level turns depending on speed and conditions etc. Once you get beyond those you start to risk stability and safety - safety must be the first concern always.

Same principles apply on the Xbox as on the PC. Try to double check connections, fuse in the plug, and then try another usb slot on the Xbox. Trace all the wires back to see if any have been caught or pinched - good luck 🤞

Trim works fine with my Honeycombe yoke, though really worth considering the Bravo Throttle as the trim wheel adds value. You can set one of the finger buttons on the yoke just make sure the right piece of equipment is selected. Thanks for the feedback and interest very much appreciated.

Please can anyone help me, I've bought the g920 for my son for his xbox x set it all up but it wont calibrate, like all the videos I've watched the wheel spins and then thats it done. But my sons doesn't do that, when he goes on forza the acceleration works all the buttons work but it won't steer, I'm at a loss and don't know what to do any help would be great.

If the buttons are working that is a good sign. Have you checked in the settings and options whether the G920’is selected as the controller - worth opening Forza using the button on the wheel rather than the controller. Otherwise, be methodical.. check all the connections including the plug and fuse. Try a different usb socket on the Xbox X. Unplug and plug the usb joining cable - pushing it firmly. Check the cables for catching and fraying a couple of the cables can get stretched. Good luck let me know if you get it sorted and how?

I also found with some games you need to ensure you start the game from the wheel rather than from the controller and then connect the wheel. Also, never forget restarting everything is not to be underrated if all else fails! Hope you get it sorted I know how frustrating gadgets can be when they do not want to comply.

Ah, brings back memories! When I did my basic and trade training there in the 960s there were just four or five aircraft in a hanger with no public access. From memory. . . Gloster Meteor Prototype Kawasaki (Hien ?) Messerschmitt 410 Westland Lysander There may have been another but, if so, it's gone from my memory! On the airfield there were one each of the Victor, Valiant and Vulcan and later a Shackleton for trade training purposes. Thanks, D.

A bit off topic, but I thought you might like to know that Just Flight announced today that they're releasing their Piper Tomahawk for MSFS tomorrow the 25th of April. The previews are very promising. As someone who has recently been flying the real thing, your views on the Just Flight version would be really interesting. Maybe do a little review? That's if you buy it of course! I enjoy your videos...keep up the good work!

Thanks for the heads up I have been waiting patiently for this aircraft since it was announced - a long time ago. I am going to buy it and would enjoy doing a review, though I have converted the sim to reflect the Piper Cherokee I needed to convert up to due to the new weight calculations lol. Thanks for the interest and positive feedback makes it all worthwhile, it makes me smile that anyone gets pleasure out of watching my video - take care.

There are hundreds of videos on KZbin relating to FSX/P3D settings, each one seems to have its own secret recipe for beautifying or speeding up the simulator. Personally, I unchecked "Dynamic 3D Autogen Vegetation" to get rid of those horrible bright light green trees. As for the "HDR Lighting" item, I enable and disable it alternately, and I still haven't decided which is better. However, I take your advice into account in this regard, since you have flown in real life, and therefore you know what you see when you are up high!!! Ciao from Italy, e grazie !!!

Yes agreed, much of this is personal choice and your idea of what looks good might change day to day. For me those couple of changes I stumbled on have got me back flying in Prepar3d again after a while away and I forgot how good it is especially in VR. I have tried a lot of the video ‘tips’ on line and so far none of them have been so mind blowing I have felt the need to share them - grazie ancora per l'interesse e per il feedback aspetto con ansia i vostri commenti e sono felice che i video vi piacciano. Congratulations on the move to the Cherokee, and be careful not to overdo it with its superior performance (ha ha ha)!!! The shots from inside the cockpit are beautiful, with the point of view behind the pilot, it's a shame they are so short... Grazie e ciao.

Yes, thanks for the feedback, it was a problem with the camera as there is no glass above so tricky to find a spot will be even better next time. I really enjoyed flying the Cherokee and it smelt of fresh leather inside (I love the smell of leather). On the length I am experimenting with shorter videos as younger people seem to get bored too easily and I have not got so many likes on my videos - trial and error. @@simplysimulatorGrazie a te per la risposta, in realtà il POV nel tuo video mi ha fatto venire l'idea di provare un POV simile con il simulatore (per adesso solo P3D, ma proverò anche con MSFS e X-Plane). E infatti ho appena fatto qualche piccolo volo con il nuovo POV, e devo dire che sembra più immersivo, mi dà una maggiore sensazione di realismo. Per quanto riguarda la lunghezza dei video, personalmente li preferisco più lunghi possibile, per me sono un vero piacere da vedere. Se uno si annoia a guardare un video perché lo ritiene troppo lungo, probabilmente la verità è che non lo interessa poi così tanto ... mah !!! (Lascio il testo in italiano, così ti diverti a tradurlo).

Grazie per l'ulteriore feedback sto anche volando di più in Xplane e Prepared anche se purtroppo Prepared non ha una buona rappresentazione dell'aeroporto di Hawarden dove volo. "Ho deciso di non preoccuparmi troppo dei ""mi piace"" perché mi piace davvero imparare a volare simming e fare questi video - quindi dovrebbe essere sufficiente." Purchased this the other day and still reading all the manuals. I previously owned a 1970 Cherokee and loved that airplane. It is now based in New Hampshire.
