Seem to recall there was a known issue with these amps. Many cases of faulty Cambridges, that could not be fixed. My friend has a dead Cambridge.

The optocoupler in the cambridge's tremolo circuit fails and causes the volume to cut out...the fix is to swap that out with the optocoupler fender uses

Have you tried to spray contact cleaner inside the pots of the amp? I sometimes have those kind of noise because of a dirty pot.

love the AC10 tones, though mine devleoped a static/vibrating hiss on low E string after a couple of weeks

Vox Warranty = 3 years. Do not open the back of the amp. Vox says that voids warranty. Code word = "Improper Maintenance." Return for exchange or bring it to a Vox Service Center.

Might be a good deal - Need to change the preamp tube + I disconnected the Tremolo - read it helps improve tone - still use it for practice jamming

It sounds great. Did you try other tubes besides the ECC83? Which is basically the same gain level as the original 12AX7.

Have NOS - Sovtek and Valvo 12AX7s - Valvos ECC83 are almost like the Telefunken
