Is the Epson 4010 the least expensive projector with lens zoom memory? I have a 130" 16x9 screen with curtains. Kinda thinking about removing or reducing the curtains and making a 2.35:1 screen if i can find a projector that will work with it (thats affrodable too lol)

Epson is the only brand I'm aware of that has lens memory on budget-friendly projectors. You can find it on JVC and Sony projectors as well, but at a much higher price. Panasonic had some 1080p projectors back in the day with the feature but I don't believe they have any current models. The Panasonic ones that had it were a bit slow to switch between memory positions. The Epsons are actually pretty quick. And I believe you're right that the 4010 is Epson's most affordable projector that has the feature. You might be able to find one used in good shape but definitely be sure to check the number of hours on the lamp. Unfortunately I think the lamp life can be manually reset so someone could potentially try to fool you there if they wanted to.

@@ChrisBoylan thanks. My worry about the 4010 is that the replacement bulb cost $300. Their other affordable long throw projectors (but without lens memory) have bulbs that are much cheaper, like $65 in some cases. For that reason I may just use manual zoom. My current 1080p epson has a long throw and 2.1 zoom so I was able to try it out and... it's a chore but I'm sure would get easier with practice.

@@chrisduncan3943 - I hear ya. if you only break out the ultrawide screen for "special occasions" then a manual zoom and lens shift is fine. But I tend to use it pretty often and have to switch back and forth for streaming service menus or disc menus and such so having it available with a push of a button is nice. As for lamp replacement cost, there are some sources for OEM exact lamp replacements. I got a replacement bulb for my Epson 4050 from MyProjectorLamps - It was $105 instead of $300. I've had it in the projector now for over a year and it appears to be identical in performance to the original. There are quite a few scammers out there though, so if the price is too good to be true then it probably is. But the bulbs from MPL seem to be legit, identical to OEM.

thank you for this video...question however... how (and or especially at the amp level) do you wire the front speakers with the atmos terminal blocks? I don't understand where to put them on my amp (onkyo 696) thank you for your feedback....
@ChrisBoylan
@ChrisBoylan Ай бұрын
In the 5.1.2 channel Sib Evo system, each of the front satellite speakers has a separate speaker terminal for the main (floor level) speakers and the reflective Atmos height channel speakers. The terminal with the Dolby logo on the front speakers should be connected to the receiver's speaker output labeled "HEIGHT." That speaker connection is also labeled "(Surround Back)" because you can configure the Onkyo TX-NR696 as a 7.1-channel system without height speakers. In that case, you'd have 7 speakers at floor level with both side and rear surround speakers, rather than 5 floor speakers and two height speakers of a 5.1.2-channel system. So the label is a little confusing but just plug them into the port that says HEIGHT. And make sure you configure your receiver for 5.1.2-channels with front reflective height speakers in the speaker set-up menu. Hope that helps!

I'm using Philips SHP 9500s everything is amazing but I find the front 3 channels slightly above centre line and all other channels positioned as expected. I'm amazed you can get any positional information from a stereo source. I expect this is helped with reverb/echo. Does anyone else find this?
