I like the clippy ultra, but only as a blended mic.The clippy ultra sounds awful below 15,000 with odd peaks and valleys, but has excellent ultrasonic extension. I use the clippy ultra with my Schoeps and blend with a 24dB slope crossover at 30khz and it is so far sounding great together. Works well that way and a cheap option.

Hi, i'm using streamlabs to stream music live sets on twitch and i think i fucked up something with windows by moving some folders into my hard drive weeks ago and now after fixing a little problem with asio link pro (i uninstalled it and installed it again), i ran into other problems. The thing is that when i link any real intrument from reaper (DAW) and asio link to streamlabs, it works for guitars and other instruments, but when it comes to MIDI instruments there's no sound coming through streamlabs audio sources and in my daw appears a window that says ''asiovadpro is overflowed, trying to reset the driver'', as i said before it only happens when i try to link my roland piano fp-10 (both midi and normal isntrument) or akai mpk mini from reaper/asiolink through streamlabs, thou it always worked before so the issue it doesn't come from the piano i guess, so, after closing the last stream i did on twitch and closed reaper too, when i try to re-open reaper it appears a window that says that it won't be able to run the last project that was left on the DAW, asio link pro appears for a couple seconds and then it shuts down on his own (both reaper and asio). I didn't find anything online that could help me (not even reddit). I stream almost every day on twitch, it's not my job but I really enjoy doing it so pls if you have any form of solution i would really appreciate, it's driving me crazy.

Do you need anything other than the mic and the xlr converter? On the site it says "Requires capsule and cable to be supported." Maybe that means physically supported?
@aaronbrownsound2 ай бұрын
Didn't need more than that here. I imagine they mean it needs to be used with gear that supports the frequency range?

wait so would a mic input on my motu M4 work. is there any solutions you've found that is available on Amazon or as one bundle instead of the multiple purchases you listed.

Is it just me, or is cleaning up audio in RX really satisfying? For me it’s almost meditative - all that present minded, focused listening and then the payoff of hearing a successful result. I find it all very enjoyable. 👍🏻

Agreed! Love Rx and getting in the zone.

I took my S61 Mk2 apart to clean the contacts and now my c1-g1 (8 keys total) are unresponsive. Any ideas on what might not have been reconnected correctly?
@aaronbrownsound2 ай бұрын
Too hard for me to say remotely. Hopefully if you take it apart, put those back in, and double check all cabling it will be ok. Good luck.
@sdud18012 ай бұрын
I figured it out. I had put the contact pads on upside down for that strip of 8 contacts so those row of 8 notes were only getting the “note off” message. By the way, MacOS has a native MIDI monitor app by the same name. However, it seems now that my sustain pedal is not registering inputs. I get a strange "portamento on/off" when pluggin the sustain pedal in and out of the Pedal B port.
@aaronbrownsound2 ай бұрын
@@sdud1801 For that try unplugging all pedal inputs, then isolate that one. Could be a bad pedal or getting mixed messages with another pedal.

I heard that people soley rely on that alone and not use monitors and have great mixes, so it means we should not listen what people tell us, but results are what matter
@aaronbrownsound3 ай бұрын
I think that's the key to all of this. Find monitors you trust and workflows that focus on faster results rather than getting into the weeds on perfection for every part of the system. VSX solves so many home studio headaches in a simple way.

I changed into a wrong audio device in the settings and my Reaper started crashing on every startup before I could even access the settings. Event viewer told me that asioglld.dll is the reason for the crash. Launching reaper like this helped me to access the audio settings without the program crashing: "PathToReaper_reaper.exe" -audiocfg

Thanks for the video, I was close to doing a fresh Windows install to try and fix Reaper closing when opening a project. And then I'd be spending half a day setting everything back up :) Turns out it was Decent Sampler causing the issue, and for some reason it only happened 50% of the time. If anyone's using that vst, be sure to update to the latest version.

how do you know where the file is going to after using the script? I used it and it looks like its running, but I cannot find the finished folder...
@aaronbrownsound6 ай бұрын
If it works it goes in the same folder as the file you are converting with something appended based on the .bat file.

The Sanken has nothing to do with the 258 : kzbin.info/www/bejne/npSzY36qndB0jZY&ab_channel=PrincipleSound
@aaronbrownsound7 ай бұрын
I don't think I made that point, but yeah the Sanken is much better for pros and different technology. This video just tries to point out you can achieve ultrasonic recording for sound design without needing the $2500 option, even though the $2500 option is far superior :)

One more question, dear Aaron! Do you ever consider using SpectraLayers instead of (or in addition to) RX? Noting that I'm about to invest in the hefty priced RX11 version upgrade, my eye is wandering....
@aaronbrownsound8 ай бұрын
I tried it once, but am so familiar with rx I didn't need it. Found RX better. Also didn't think rx11 was worth the upgrade and usually lag a few versions behind.

THIS IS FANTASTIC. Y'all are absolute beasts for accomplishing so much in such a tight timeframe, lean team, and man those clips sound GOOD. I learned more in 38 min of this retrospec than my last 3 years of sound designing in game dev! Any AAA team would be wise to learn from these lessons and efficient workflows to accomplish truly great game sound and bring down budgets in the process! Masterfully done, sir.
