The local councils and MPs never supported this project and demonstrates their incapabilities and incompetence of the need for such a project for sustainable growth and investment in the region. The claim of damage to environment is nonsense. Air travel is 3% contributing to CO2, whilst the fashion business in comparison is over 10%. Aircraft in the future will also emit less and with lower noise levels. It’s a pity for the airport and region and the business will go somewhere else. If some specialists would have educated the locals with concern and other certain individuals i am sure the project would have taken off.

Sadly the Leeds City Council were split in their decision to approve the development, as a result the plans were called to Westminster for a public enquiry. Thanks airport had already wasted time waiting for the council decision, and couldn't justify wasting more money at an enquiry that could go against the plans, so they cancelled the project in favor of yet another extension to the old building. Leeds council and five local Labour MPs in essence pulled the plug on the terminal. As one who had worked within the building for ten years and could see the state of it behind the scenes, the whole northern region has lost out by the lack of foresight.

A great terminal for lba if approved, what really makes me laugh though is the lack of knowledge by the nimby brigade,the moaners etc moan moan and f***** moan, this is great for Leeds, Leeds is a great city and with a premiership team now, the city needs to welcome fans from abroad by letting them pass through a state of the art new terminal and onto a LBA parkway train station direct to the city!

What a fantastic new terminal planned for lba, once this is built LBA will move upto the next level. The current 1960s terminal is holding it back so much. Leeds is the 3rd largest English city in the 4th most populated area yet the airport is only the 14th largest in the UK,it's crazy! Leeds city council need to get their arses into gear and approve this, for once do something right!

upgrade has been required for decades, just get on with it, its a new modern building, how people can moan about a new departure/arrivals area is any ones guess!, it's not like they are building a runway extension, which they really could do with, it's a new energy efficient building! why find fault where there isn't one!!!

They better install better restaurants at the new terminal, went for the first time in August 2019 and it was so small compared to Manchester airport, I get it’s a small local airport but a little more variety would be nice

Looks amazing and LBA is my preferred airport. It is just a shame there is no train there. You can get a train from York or Leeds to Manchester Airport direct, but not to our local airport.

Wanted to visit my dad in the Pacific North West. Both LBA and MAN needed connecting flights, but Leeds was cheaper and quicker.
