The rear axle goes from 1860kgs to 2500kgs which is a massive change. The ball weight on the 4t Van is 280kgs, this in part due to the extended A Frame, I added 800mm to accommodate the motorbike that can sit on the front, with the bike on the front the ball weight goes to 300kgs.

Hi mate just watched your youtube, ive been in contact with monster to have this done . Did the upgrade come with the air locker? Do you tow your van with the standard tow hitch and not a shock hitch? Cheers Steve

Hi Steve, thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, No, the GVM upgrade doesn't come with air lockers. That said, it is something I am looking at and my preferred mechanic is Thor Mechanical Perth WA [Pinjara], not sure if you have heard of them? I am planning on them doing the air lockers, but with 500mm clearance I haven't had a problem yet...but it would a great addition. 👍 The hitch I use is a DO45 hitch, due to the 4t Van..works an absolute treat can't go wrong. Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris I thought on monster web site there upgrade comes with air locker, with your DO45 do you just use a standard tow tongue. When i bought my van i was told that i need to use a shock hitch like gen y hitch . Cheers Steve

Hi Steve, regarding the air lockers Beau at Monster wasn't offering this addition, if he was at the time I would have definitely taken him up on it, because the diff etc.. Is completely removed. Not sure if you watch our Gibb River Road Series Wayne [DS Ram] as you know mine is a [DT RAM] we both had GenY Hitch, and when we got back to Perth, we both have since sold them...I found it was okay, but I was getting too much sag at the hitch end Wayne could not do 90kms an hr. with his on. I now have a Reece Hitch solid 55mm tongue with the DO45 and its perfect, I'll dig up some footage and share it, and Wayne has a Solid Tongue for his DO35 his van is a Bush Tracker 3.5T, Wayne is also trialing an anti-sway bar as well, and his drive's perfectly now. It's worth noting there is a big difference in the back end between a DS and DT, which is why I do not need anti-sway bars. Cheers, Chris

This is my Beautiful Giant Wallaby. It is also known as a Kangaroo that identifies it as a Male when (roo) is applied.. However, for the Fairer Sex:, it is distinguished by putting an "A" at the end of word. Hence, Kangarooa ! Old Outback proverb from Down and Under: "Tie me Kangaroo' down Sport "! By the way this creature is one of the few Marsupial Species of the Australian Continent. Meaning the newborn can sleep in her Mother's Pouch while the Mother is hunting or gathering Food, while "Sock Hopping"...... In contrast:, the only North American Marsupial are the Opposums:, which they Ate according to the show "Beverly Hill Billys'....

Great vid mate. I have a ‘23 Ram 1500 Limited. We own a 4t ATM off road van. We are looking at doing some more remote traveling with both units. I’m a tad paranoid re the rear axle & the issues surrounding the thin wall surrounding the wheel bearings. JMACX do a diff upgrade. Is that what you had done?
@rambleon6672
@rambleon6672 4 ай бұрын
G'day Brad, it's great to hear from you and I am glad you like the vid. We had a GVM 4.3t upgrade done by Monster Offroad out of Castlemaine Vic - Beau the owner. He's a young fella mid 20s but does an outstanding job on the GVM upgrade. The pros are certainly Beau's craftmanship and quality, our GVM is now 18mths old and it hasn't missed as beat and I had no issues with obtaining the compliance on our WA registration for the upgrade [Post Rego]. The con is the cost and his timeframes, which may have changed since we had ours done. So, we went from 1760kgs rear axle to 2500kgs tested to 3400kgs, the strengthening, gearing, control arms etc. makes a massive difference when driving a heavy van. Like you our van is 4t, but I have the Laramie, with your Limited it is very different in terms of GVM upgrade as your electronic air system is a more complex. On a positive note, Beau has done some excellent engineering work on the Limited including the rear chassis bracing, which is a must on the Limited variant. I initially was keen on the JMACX system, but when I bought my 21 RAM, they decided not to do GVM upgrades on the RAMs, as the Landcruiser 300s were coming out, so they targeted the demand. JMACX are an excellent product, and worthy for the GVM upgrade, in my circumstances I travelled to Castlemaine Vic to get Monster Off road to do my work. I reckon you do a comparison between the two, I did check JMAXC website and note the Limited 4.2t GVM upgrade is TBC in 2024. Either way you have some good options for the Limited. Let me know how you go. Cheers, Chris👍
