Hardened Scales has been a thing in some fashion for like 6 years now, with the original idea of decks focused around Arcbound Ravager and bouncing counters around to kill your opponent as fast as possible being part of the decks that got artifact lands banned back in Mirrodin. I wouldn´t call that exactly new
@NanMansNerdCorner7 күн бұрын
You know that meme of you blinking? The top panel is 2019 the bottom panel is 2024, yeah that's me right now lol My brain defaulted back to pre modern horizons days but you are correct Arcbound Ravager shenanigans have been a thing since Mirrodin and the reason artifact lands were banned and the back bone of the OG affinity lists

@NanMansNerdCorner This was years ago. He gave it to be for a specific deck I built... Its red and white metalcraft equipment deck. First and double strike creatures with cheap to cast equipments with Galvanic Blast Pure steel Paladen pulled it all together with Drawing cards for every equipment I cast and making Equipping free. We used to call him Magneto😂 Still my favorite deck to this day. Although I really only get to play Arena now

fun watch you guys gotta try not to juggle and shuffle your cards in your hand its very distracting in this camera view. Also for me atleast being conscious of not doing this now I slow down and can concentrate more on plays in a calmer fashion instead of twitching and rushing.
@NanMansNerdCorner13 күн бұрын
I don't know if this is universal for 60 card formats but it definitely is at my shop that all the players flick/shuffle their hands almost like a nervous habit thing. Making the conscious effort to not do that seems like a great way to slow down and concentrate on the board state and what's happening and not feel like you need to rush through things.

I think you are correct, could be the stress of game 3 and wanting to make sure they are playing more reactionary instead of just closing the game out. Murktide player has played a very bad 3rd match: You've seen that the opponent's deck plays Stomping Ground, so should know that after sideboard at least 2-3 copies of Pick Your Poison has been sided in; why do You have played not 1, not 2, but 3 Murktide Regent without a counter to protect at least one of them? The board was relatively clear, You weren't in a hurry to play a threat to close the match quickly... Or am i missing something?
@NanMansNerdCorner26 күн бұрын
I think the stress of wanting to close out the game while also playing against a newer deck was too much. I will say your read is correct that seeing players running green you should anticipate some number of Pick your poisons. Sometimes you make more mistakes playing against a new deck until you can learn the lines

Would be good if we could see what the players have in their hands. Would help with being able to give tips. Also, I'm curious as to why the tron player has that urzas power plant signed by Mark Poole since the arrival is by Mark Tedin?
@NanMansNerdCorner28 күн бұрын
Part of the reason he has NFC miscut lands twitter.com/TheRealNanMan/status/1686737666044227584/photo/1 so part of the top of land is a Mark Poole card so he has both Mark Tedin and Mark Poole signatures on those cards. We might have to adding some information about the cards in players hands
