i'd contact the original creator for sure. a fake copyright strike isn't great, but from what i hear about youtube they are pretty absent from any sort of dispute. at least the creator can likely sort out what the issue is and resolve any damage that's been done

These strikes are easy to appeal. Just appeal on the grounds that the person claiming copyright is not the owner and they are using KZbin to commit a crime. I got lots of these when I ran a news channel. Appealed all of them and won all of the appeals. I know KZbin does nothing to the criminals because a lot of the claims came from the same company.

I looked at the dudes IMDb page, and not only does he claim to be in an editorial role for John Wick 4 (Doesn't appear in the actual credits), and appears in a project named after his exact name on IMDb. 100% not a legit claim. My guess is that at most he's not a real person since one of the photos I found of him looks almost like AI.
