Even after the explanation, I can't say I would ever be able to reach the conclusion to use Floyd’s algo. I gues I am not a good engineer?

🎯 Key points for quick navigation: 00:26 *🎯 Speaker went through 14 Google interviews across two cycles, with 7 interviews in each cycle* 01:07 *🤝 Employee referrals are much more effective than applying through career sites - it's like "skipping the line"* 01:51 *⏰ Candidates can take as much time as needed to prepare before scheduling interviews - there's no pressure from Google* 02:18 *💻 Coding interviews are conducted in Google Docs, without IDE features - practice coding without auto-complete* 03:57 *🔄 Google conducts multiple interviews because they understand good candidates can have off days* 06:33 *💡 Don't overcomplicate solutions - sometimes the simple approach is the right one* 07:45 *🎲 Interview styles vary greatly depending on interviewer preferences - some focus on LeetCode-style questions, others on open-ended system design* 08:42 *🧠 Keep an open mind and be flexible during interviews - it's impossible to prepare for every scenario* 09:37 *📈 Learning from interview failures led to success at Facebook later* 09:50 *🎭 Accept imperfection - failing an interview isn't the end; there will always be more opportunities* Made with HARPA AI

but if we just return the curDist as soon as we find the target node, we might not be able to find the shortest path since there are no path relaxation?

I am 99.999% sure it has less to do with leadcode and more to do with how well of a fit you are culturally. II came across a video of a tatted guy who had proceeded all the way to the fincroubd only to be presented with and fail the extremely difficult challenges. Compared to those who have been hired, I could tell off the bat he won’t make it because he didn't give of the "nerd" vibe. OP here comes off as someone who fits the type of people they look for. Their tests tend to be easier. For 2 people with equal leetcode skills, it is really not about leetcode. That is just a tool to cull candidates who they don't think are a fit.

I really like companies as FB. They focus so much on a high-quality interviews but all software portfolio is overloaded of banal bugs. Literally everything and everywhere is example of the worst software ever, which remains broken for several years, sometimes for ever. Really funny. Shame on FB.

We should stop normalizing that everyone should apply to only FAANG companies. When you look at the market or hear testimonials, you will see that chaos reign in all of them, mostly because of the management style. I have been working over 10 year in a non FAANG company, and even though I could be earning a higher salary, the amount of management drama it is going to be less since it is a smaller company. I agree with her that 7 interviews is beyond ridiculous. The sad things is that you see a lot of KZbin videos were show people quitting a few months after getting the job.

4:29 since DAU is 10 M and Write request is 10% of DAU , so then read request should be 90%DAU right , should we assume like this or should we go with ratio? @Shiran Afergan can you please clarify

What you mentioned about employee referral is not always the case. If someone "knows" me but never worked with me and can't speak about my professional level, their referral is useless. Companies will ignore such referrals and treat the candidate the same as anyone else. For this reason, when I'm approached on linkedin by random strangers (or indeed anyone who never coded with me) asking me to refer them I tell them that they're better off just going to the regular jobs site - my referral will make zero difference for their application and it just wastes both our time. This by the way is equally true regarding referral bonuses. If I refer someone who I never worked with and they are accepted I do not get a referral bonus and this has been the case in multiple companies that I've worked for. Only someone I actually worked with counts.

a different approach that you have talked about: how many bulbs have odd number of divisors, why doesn't it work for n=5 then? and for 3, it should be 2, right?

Good explanation!! I think the last proof is most important, it's suprising that many solvers can't even aware of this problem, and can't explain why it works to find the global optimal solution.
