Why do they back up to the rig?
@denali94496 ай бұрын
To put the boat deck under the rig crane. Makes life easier and keeps the boats bow and house out of the cranes work area.

Haul twice the cargo at twice the speed with half the people and half the pay of a big boat. Loved every minute of it.

So glad I got the hell out of the oilfield and switched over to the USCG, Aviation Branch, HC-130 and HU-25, It was much more fun flying over the oil patch and being home at night with a steady paycheck and not rocking around on the waves. In the oil patch It was steak and weenies from year to year, from boom to bust. No thank you.

I live in canada, I'm a US citizen. I was working for the Coast guard as a cook on vessels with seven people and 45 people. I'm moving back to America. Can I get a job as a cook on a supply boat down there? Up here I have Marine emergency duties which is firefighting and getting in and out of lifeboats, and also advanced first aid. I've got all the cooking certificates needed I think. I lived in Hawaii 17 years, and Ohio for 10 years.

How are the crew quarters for the crew of the boat?
@Carlos-iu9wn3 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard, where did you get the bracket for the SC Oval to go on? Mine didnt come with a bracket to go from the footpeg to the exhaust hanger. Im in UK and struggling to source something that fits. Thanks
@richarda39893 жыл бұрын
It's been a while since I installed it but, I want to say I used the one from the stock exhaust.

@richarda39893 жыл бұрын
Along with deck cargo and passengers you may also transfer fuel and water. Being home everyday is rare for this type of work and sounds nice.
@garlandremingtoniii13383 жыл бұрын
@@richarda3989 I’m having deep doubts it’s the truth. About being home Every night. I do know for a fact, back 30 years ago when the majors didn’t look, find and drill so far out like they do now, I knew of many crew boats that was home nearly every 24 hours. But, these boats only hauled crews. Nothing else to speak of.

What are your anti-wheelie and traction control settings with launch control?
@richarda39893 жыл бұрын
I have all of my settings on 1 which is the least intrusive with anti-wheelie off. I haven't played with the 2 or 3 launch setting.

My husband works out of that same area he works on a tug boat I want to stay just one week on a boat to see how it really feels to be out on the water
@prestonperez9232 жыл бұрын
Tug boats are like riding in a car compared to a crew boat like this
@kedricksmith83313 жыл бұрын
Do crewboats normally stay offshore or run in and out regularly
@richarda39893 жыл бұрын
They run in and out for the most part. Some companies keep a crewboat handy to run crews about the field or the occasion were the rig isn't ready for the equipment you brought out and ask you to hang out.

Starting at 2:27 what are those vertical containers with the funnels on the bottom? I see similar in Railyard videos. Fuel?
@richarda39894 жыл бұрын
Those are dry bulk tanks used for storing and transferring products such as barite and cement.

What's that song, and who's that singing? Whoever wrote the song seems to really know the industry. Sounds like he's been on a hitch or two. Sort of a 'sixteen tons' for the oilfield.
@richarda39894 жыл бұрын
Chad Cooke Band - Oil Man. Its a great song! Definitely a hint of the pain and struggles associated with the oilfield or any job that requires you to be away from family.

Hey thanks for the video! What's your general impression on this model SC exhaust? Too loud, not loud enough? Thanks
@richarda39894 жыл бұрын
Thanks! This is the race version of the oval. The standard is longer, not made of titanium and a smaller diameter if I remember correctly. It sounds great to me although it can ring your ears at times. If you live in an apartment you might consider one that comes with a removable baffle in case the neighbors start griping. I can't imagine the CRT being much louder than this one but I have yet to come across one to compare it to.

Did you notice any difference in terms of throttle response or feel when you got the SC Project Oval + Race ECU?
@richarda39895 жыл бұрын
I actually went with the Openflash Tablet for reprogramming the ECU and yes throttle response is definitely noticed.
