Hey man, I have mine going from the tree with the insulator/ wire to just outside my window where my shack is, so the transformer or balun is by my shack instead of up in the tree….iscthat okay? The wire still goes 66’

U didn't have to solder it, Just jump the 2 connections on the solder pad and turn the radio on

Yes I understand that, but the radio I have is the 101B which already has the 11m position on the radio with the crystal, but it is receive only and I would like to make it transmit also. Thanks

Well, after the mod is made you move the band selector switch to AUX. The Aux Position is the 11 band or whichever Band Crystal you put in the radio. This mod opens the AUX for transmission. In the USA- Tune the radio into a dummy load.

@@lennyround-n8xlq here in the uk warranty is void if you modify yourself, I believe warranty is safe if the shop modify it as long as its proven that working out of band was not the issue a grey area I admit that was how it was explained to me when I made my purchase

Thank you for this tutorial as I am planning on getting this in the near future but did not know how to set it up. What the buttons meant, how to debunk for any false positives, most important to me! i always debunk myself as it's the only way I'm going to get valid information, which I am seeking. Question, should I still pack my handheld temp with the laser or can this be one less thing to carry?

Good question, Yes- always carry everything you can so you have it. - Boy/Girl Scout your go pack. The hand held laser temperature indicator is a completely different device. Carry it, I do. It weights nearly nothing… Be careful and good luck! 👻👻👻👻👻

How does Rempod work? Is it poor version of theremin?

Haven’t used a Theremin so I can’t say. However, yes I do know how the Rem Pod works. It generates a small RF [ radio frequency] field around itself. The field is intensified by pressing the center button. One light is the lowest setting. Press again got the next sensitivity level and so on. As something bumps into the field the lights and sound pop off. From what I can find so far is It’s a back pressure SWR [standing wave ratio] detector. Theres Two things happening when it’s full on. Proximity and sensitivity effect.
