It’s funny that DD has the exact same swing as he did almost 30 years ago when he was world no 1 but now he has such a hard time playing well. Just goes to show how difficult golf is.

Oh no… Worst advice ever posted… Per Hogan… the worst thing a golfer can do is flip through impact. Oh David…
@My2Stents2 күн бұрын
There is no flip. Right hand under left and face is square the whole time. It’s a power fade because there’s no flip. You can’t hook if you don’t close club face and he doesn’t by rotating like crazy from ground up. He’s eliminating the left side. It works and he’s done ok
@hasseygolf2 күн бұрын
@My2Stents you clearly don't know what a flip is. And that's okay. Enjoy this great game....

You need a good sequence before this applies. He’s been hitting balls since birth. If you don’t use your lower body and core properly this doesn’t apply to you

I have a swing sequence of photos of Duval from one of the golf mags from back in the day. He had plenty of face rotation through impact. Feel is not real.

On course commentators love saying the club when it’s being hit hard, over something. But rarely mention when the player flights it down with a longer wedge

So every other teacher has been lying to me saying to stay on or under plane to fix my 2 way miss ? I wish or hope this is true , but im not too confident itll work ….for me anyways 🤷🏼♂️👍🏼✌️
@matt06228617 күн бұрын
David struggled getting way too under the plane after his fall from greatness, so for him feeling like being over it helps him to get it in the right place even though you can see he still drops it under a bit at the start of the downswing.

I’ve seen this before and tried mid round this past summer. NUKED my mid irons. I started losing it too far left and kind of abandoned it. But for me…. It generated a lot of confident speed. I’m going to revisit
@howetuck162718 күн бұрын
I think it's fallacy to think eliminating one side of fairway means that you won't get into trouble. If you can only fade the ball, what are you going to do if there's trouble at the right side? How about dealing with a dogleg left? That's why I favor going straight or a draw because it works well for me.

He cups his wrists at the top of the swing... This swing requires you to snap your wrists... Not going to result in consistency with the amateur golfer... Requires a lot of timing..

Not that difficult to understand. He is basically saying with the driver you need to release the club a lot earlier than you think. To ensure the club face is rotating and hitting up on the ball at impact. Tiger does this also.
@rortys.kierkegaard998018 күн бұрын
@@Vert1986the way he describes his release helps a lot. Right hand gets under the club… it’s on top, on the backswing
@wills255218 күн бұрын
@@Vert1986 Agreed everything has to happen so much earlier than most think in the golf swing apart from the transition where you need to wait.

I was about to write the same thing. He's actually dropping the club inside on the downswing, which is where you want it. That's really bizarre.
@jeremydahm21243 күн бұрын
agreed. He's shallowing the club then rotating through.....AKA, doing exactly what we're all trying to do! ha ha.......My advice, don't listen to him, watch him.
@eddiegolf19 күн бұрын
That's exactly how I hit it but with no power. 240 yards maximum with a driver.
@williamhermann663519 күн бұрын
Try shortening your backswing and really emphasize firing your lower body. John Rahm does this. Hes had the same swing coach since he was a teenager and the guy will have him hit balls with almost no backswing because your body will instinctually fire the legs and hips to make up for the shorter backswing. Ive modeled my swing after this approach. I take my backswing until my lead arm is parallel with the ground so mine is even shorter than Rahm's but I can still hit 300+ yd power fades with the right trajectory.
