@@jeromehugues Ah I understand the concern now. It is still less harmful than going into a sun tanning bed and since the light is not directly close in on the patients face, I can't imagine visible light being harmful to a patient.

Hi Yoo, I saw a video that says the declination angle needs to be >= 40 for the loupe to be effective with helping with the posture. Would you concur with that?

Was your DAT score still valid? I’ll be graduating undergrad in May and I took the DAT on May 14th 2022. If I end up doing a 2 year masters wouldn’t my scores be invalid and then I’d need to take it again while finishing the masters program? Thank you.

Hello, Thankfully, my DAT score was still valid. They typically stay valid through three years from the time you take it. I happened to take mine just three years before graduating from my masters program. If I did not get into dental school that same year I was graduating my masters program, I would have had to retake it.

I hear a lot of great things about Univet loupes! However, I still stick with oroscoptic or qoptics. I've had the best experiences with them. Not saying Univet loupes are below quality, just havent had enough experience with them to give you an accurate reply. Even still, I hear a LOT of great things about them from my colleagues!

I am not 100% sure on this but I hear that it is comparable. When asking my assistants, they seem to like the wireless one more but mentioned the wired ones seem to be brighter.

Hello! Great Question! That is already built into the Q-Optics Loupes for the TruFit. If you're looking to adjust your angle of declination even more, there are flip up/flip down loupes you could get.

Once the Cavi wipe falls on the ground, even if it wasn’t used, I dispose of it. At dental hygiene school they really enforced how dirty floors are and to get a new wipe.

Just keep in mind that too much of the angle of declination will make the Loupe uncomfortable and also seeing a half arch with the 3x magnification is not good at all. Check out ILLUCO USA loupes. they have 12 cm of field of view on their 3.5X Galilean TTL Loupes with no distortion and you can see the whole arch

I hear it takes some getting used to. There are some things in dentistry that requires a little bit of bad ergo. Like when you're searching around for an implant abutment via open tray technique. This of course, is different from provider to provider of course. I think designs for vision has a lengthy return policy that allows people to try them out!

Hi Dr. Yoo! Honestly, your video inspired me to continue keep going for my path towards dental school! I just graduated this year majoring in biochem and am thinking of starting post-bacc program in UCLA extension. Then, I’m planning to apply to dental school next year’s cycle in June. My overall GPA is okay, but my science GPA wouldn’t be like that(especially for lower div core requirements like gen chem and gen bio), and that’s why I’m considering doing the post-bacc. Do you think UCLA extension would be a good choice for post-bacc program? Thank you so much :)

Although you may not have one "AHA this is why I want to do dentistry moment", there must be something you could talk about through your experiences. Focus on those experiences, what you liked about them, and more importantly, what you learned through them.

Listening to this gal telling me to live my life...but California gas is expensive AF and am about to go into debt AF... Prob should keep earning this $20/hr...
