It was a world record attempt and she was keeping him going due to the fact he had no other horse around him to push him on to the line...

Sarah, is this a half mile track? When I first took a look I thought it might be a 1/3 of a mile, but now I doubt it.

Wow never saw racing like this before. Only North American. What distance's do they run?
@SarahThomas4 жыл бұрын
At this particular track it's 1m 3f, generally most tracks race over a mile but this is a Thoroughbred racetrack that we have access to for an annual 2 day festival.

Them french fries don't have brains lol! It's not good to Race a horse on the roads. They can slip and fall and get road rash. The road is not forgiving when you fall pluss it's hard on the joints, feet and bones of a horse.

I've been seeing quite a few of these. Both in saddle and with a cart. Not hating but is this really safe to have the horses with so many cars? Yours looks like it's official but I've seen some with on coming traffic

This mare = still sound, winner of her last 3 starts on the winter road circuit this season (after winning another twice last season after this win).
@jyushi1966 жыл бұрын
She won't be "sound" if you keep racing on the road like that.

XxMollymoxX I don't race her. But she was a winner again yesterday. She's doing alright considering she's been at it 4 seasons I think.

Are you familiar with racers from the mid 80's to 90's
@SarahThomas7 жыл бұрын
No - I only joined the sport in 2008 although I have access to record books dating back to 1970 so have a 'working knowledge' of racing prior to getting involved.

Sarah Thomas Ohh cool, My dad raced back then in the Meadowlands, Yonkers, Freehold, a bit in Canada, and a bit in Florida
@SarahThomas7 жыл бұрын
I spent some time in Florida at Pompano Park last winter; I'm hoping to go back in the not-too-distant future. We never made it to the Meadowlands or Yonkers when we were in New York so they're on the bucket list (without about a million others!)
@mlcosplay28387 жыл бұрын
Sarah Thomas That's great, My dad never really told me about what you have to do to become a pro horse racer. Apparently he was pretty good when he did race and said at one point he had 48 horses in his stable he would race for different owners. Is it hard to get to the Meadowlands or Yonkers
