Question: In a situation like 6:48 where an attachment has no eligible targets, it's not able to even be played, correct? That's how I read it in the rules for Attachment Cards: "An attachment cannot enter play if there is no eligible card or game element to which it can attach." So in that situation, he mistakenly kneels the Builder, but he cannot legally spend the gold for the attachment. So shouldn't he get the 2 gold back? Just curious for future games.

Yes, he should have had the 2 gold still. If his opponent was playing something like Loot, you can't choose to illegally spend the gold like that. :)

Yeah, I kept thinking throughout the game that Tourney will also protect Green-Apple Knight from Nightmares, but then when it actually became relevant, I just had a brainfart and forgot all about it, as usual. :)

Of course I did miss something, as usual. King Renly's Host couldn't attack because The Withering Cold is a Winter plot. My apologies to Mattes. Looking at it again, I don't think there was a way to close that round against optimal defence. :)

Ahhh Rickard needs a North location to kneel. That explains why it didn't get triggered often! I was needlessly trying to cover myself making sure I did what I needed to do before it triggered (like Milking Robb within my first challenge etc). Thanks for recording :)

If Tyrell are to get seven cards it needs to be based around he arrest of margaery and her cousins and handmaidens over false accusations, perhaps a 7 costing seven margaery, the ultimate manipulating card which shows how well she’s able to manipulate and put things to work in her favour. also old town city guard is missing something else, perhaps a choice between revealing a card or giving another Hightower plus strength. Would like to see the purple wedding come into it at some point, we need a qot that poisons 🙏

A little off topic here but I don’t know where else to post this but I feel two new cards that are underwhelming in the new pack which was the field of fire and the old town guard, I’ll start off with field of fire, it used to be good the card before it was changed but the recent change where you have to have 7 cost dragons out just to get -1 str is a bad card especially when there are cards that give you more of a pay out than -1 and lastly the guard I mean the text box barely fits two lines, you just reveal the top card of each players decks? Meh Tyrell’s always get really crap cards.

There is a review of The Spoils of War that we did with Stephen Patane. :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/fna2kqlrncStZ68 I'm hearing mixed opinions about The Field of Fire so far. Most people find it underwhelming, especially the Targ loyalists, but I've also heard others say it's incredibly strong. I guess time will tell. But I'm slightly disappointed that people are still playing it with the 5-cost Dany instead of the other two. Oldtown City Watch is simple on purpose. I think the plan is to stay away from extremely complicated abilities like Warlock of Qarth when it comes to cheap non-unique characters. We all need a bit of a break from reading huge text boxes after As High as Honor. :) I think the card is decent enough. Works with Mace to some extent, and it gives you some information for cards like Oldtown, Ser Mark Mullendore or Hightower Spy, to that you don't trigger them blindly.

All games in this tournament have a 55-minute time limit. When time expires, players play until the end of the round, and then whoever is ahead at that point wins the game.

Great video! I would like to see more of such discussions about card designs. Question: It is several times mentioned in the video that City plot cards are no more. I don't see them in the Restricted List, so what does that mean exactly? What did I miss?

At the Gates is currently banned, which means you don't have an obvious opener that gets a City plot into your used pile. Previously, people were opening At the Gates and grabbing Gulltown, which made it very easy to follow it up with City Festival and City of Spiders. I would say more than 50% of decks were playing the City plotline at one point. But with At the Gates banned, decks that are looking for a lot of gold have mostly switched to other, more efficient options. But I know there are many who would like to see At the Gates return, or at least have a viable alternative to be able to play the City plots again. If that happens, Gulltown Merchant immediately gets stronger, as does Zollo the Fat of course. :)
