Probably just the fuel filter in the gas tank. It disintegrates after some time and the carb then cannot get enough fuel. Remove and replace it. Do not store the unit for long periods with fuel in the tank to make it last longer.
@marcv88132 жыл бұрын
Fuel filter in the gas tank dissolves over time. Probably just need a new one. Have a look, it's probably all gummed up. A very easy fix.

Looks like the "H" screw on the carb needs turning out anti clock just a touch. Small two strokes are a pain as they can easily be affected by atmospherics - even a couple hundred feet of elevation can require the "H" and "L" screws to require adjustment.

How can a new machine then need a new carb? Did you have to pay for it, if the fitted carb is obviously 'wrong' for the machine then the whole machine is not fit for purpose.
@willsmoran7 жыл бұрын
The machine worked fine for first few months. It was only on the next season work when the fault developed. The Husqvarna dealer and shop mechanic said that this was normal and would clear after few mins on warm up. Instead that fault got worse to a point were I stop using the hedge trimmer. I had to contact Husqvarna Ireland who collected the item and fixed free of charge. Since the repair the machine has worked flawlessly. Sometimes faults happen in new machines that's where the dealer network should resolve. In my case the dealer was not interested and just fob me off. He was never going to refund me.

I have a 226HD75S. I am having the same issue. It has gotten worse since I pulled it out of the box. I can only find one adjustment screw that has the upside down T under it for idle. I took the whole carb apart and see no issues. Mine was made in 2014. Either they have gotten rid of the adjustment screw or I am over looking it! Any pics or videos?

I am not sure what Carburetor is in your model. The Carburetor in my Hedge trimmer was a Walbro WYA 104 013 which was replaced with Carburetor Walbro WYA 104 307. That replacement cleared the fault. I will take some pictures so you can refer too.

Bit late & I have a different model but I just adjusted a screw (marked T, for timing I assume?) a small amount & she's running like a champ again!
@300553blue8 жыл бұрын
Look on the side of the carb, under the plastic handle. You'll see a single, tiny hole, maybe 3mm, that's the one. You only need a small flat bladed screwdriver. It has to be short though, to fit under the plastic handle. Adjust in small increments. You'll probably only need to turn it 1/8 the of a turn. ( anti-clockwise ) so make sure you know the position of the screw before you start. Don't cut down the amount of oil, you'll shorten the life of the motor significantly.

I had the same hedge trimmer with the same problem. Stripped and cleaned the carb 3 times. New gaskets fitted. Exactly the same. Ticked over beautiful, wouldn't rev, just bog down. Ordered a new carb. Didn't make sense, machine had only done a few hours, still looked like new. Stripped it down for one last try before the new carb turned up. Just putting it back together and noticed the sneaky little 2.5 mm hole that housed the sneaky little top end mixture screw that Husqvarna forgot to tell us about. Sneaky bastards. Maybe they aren't selling enough carburettors. Put it back together without adjusting that mixture screw. Ticked over beautiful, wouldn't rev. Same as before. Turned that secret screw out a quarter of a turn, revved right up. Tuned the top end with that screw and now it runs lovely. Drilled a 4mm hole in the plastic handle above the mixture screw so I can use a long, thin screwdriver next time instead of the custom made short one I used. Cancelled the new carb that was on order. I enjoyed the challenge but almost bought a new carb that wasn't necessary. If anyone wants details let me know but I'm sure that now you know that there is a secret screw, you'll be able to find it without a problem.

Is it a plastic screw with three slots (tri-wing), just beside where the fuel pipes enter the carb?
@gideonr08 жыл бұрын
Ah, okay, I see two tri-wing plastic blanking plugs, one beside where the fuel pipes enter and one in the centre of the throttle control. I take it the adjusting screws are under these?

@gideonr010 жыл бұрын
I have the same model as this and it behaved exactly the same way as yours. I tried replacing the carburettor diaphragms twice, and even bought another carburettor. I have since discovered that mine runs perfectly if I put less oil in the fuel.
@300553blue8 жыл бұрын
The engine is already running lean. Reducing the amount of oil is not the answer, although it may seem to run better in the short term. The carb needs adjusting so the engine runs richer. ( see comment above )

@mrperfecto27585 жыл бұрын
I bough one of this couple years back and i was told that the gasoline has to do a lot with the performance of this brand(Husqvarna) i live in California. I still love husqvarna landscaping tools, but if you buy stihl hedge trimmers you don't go wrong eather.
