It would be insane to change any of the cast of this movie, but Frank Sinatra actually made a very popular recording of the film's title song. How you can imagine you could cast him in the film without having him sing it is beyond my understanding.

You've mentioned "To Catch A Thief" (1955) several times. While that's a wonderful movie, directed by Alfred Hitchcock, Audrey is not in it. You are doubtless thinking of another princess, the gorgeous & classy Grace Kelly who co-starred with Cary Grant. You may also be thinking of another of Audrey's films like "Charade" or "How to Steal a Million". My suggestion though is to follow "Roman Holiday" with "Sabrina" (1954). Personally, I don't think "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is one of her best, although for some reason it's the most famous. I watch it mainly for the very last scene with the cat, which IS great. Speaking of "To Catch A Thief", seeing it can give one an idea what "Roman Holiday" might have been like in color, since "TCAT" was filmed in gorgeous Technicolor on the French Riviera. Film makers of today only WISH they could duplicate the amazing hyper-real look of vintage Technicolor, far superior to the over-graded monotony of current films. The best old school B&W cinematography hasn't been equaled either. For my money, B&W was actually a fortunate choice for "Roman Holiday", emphasizing its small character moments without getting too distracted by the scenery. Not that I wouldn't enjoy seeing that scenery in color...

Since you guys already brought up Gary Oldman, I hope you can review "Immortal Beloved" (1994), starring him as a very tragically misunderstood Beethoven. And it featured an international, all-star cast too. Great show, BTW.

There's a reprise of the opening song during that scene. 1:03:20 so technically, there is a closing number. This is my favorite Disney film (Don't get me wrong, I love the Renaissance as much as anyone else) But this film had so much going against it, and yet it turned out so incredibly hilarious, and honestly even spawned a great franchise. I think even the direct to video sequel and TV series were good (The TV series has a few more references to the setting, and the word "Inca" is even mentioned a few times. Also there's a musical episode.)
