Ive also been struggling with how my family and friends feel about me homeschooling. They judge but don't know or care about my values or beliefs. It's like if why does it bother them so much you know? Like theyre not the ones doing the homeschooling so bye lol!

What is the best homeschool curriculum for autism?
@FreeRangeFamiliesPodcast
@FreeRangeFamiliesPodcast 19 күн бұрын
Honestly there isn’t ONE curriculum I would recommend. You have to see what works for your child. Do they respond well to computer work? One on one instruction? Do they like to read or listen to stories? Try things out to see what fits best for their learning style and research from there! HSLDA also has a lot of resources so I would absolutely recommend joining and learning from them!

I’m in NYC and we have been homeschooling for five years. The hardest part has been finding like-minded people, even Christians. I have also found it so hard to have consistent meetups or people will confirm and not show. I work from home full time for an accounting firm but would love to start a co-op. Would all the tips and advice that helped you.

Good evening! What you are referring to is a very trying aspect of finding your people and connecting. This was a huge reason I started my own co-op. If you build it they will come! In my first year running HUG, I struggled with members being hit or miss. I actually had to implement a mandatory "contribution" aspect of the co-op, meaning that members had to contribute to the community in the form of a class, club, event, or other. And really reiterate that this builds a community and reiterates the fact that they are invested in something they believe in. I also really thin the type of events and classes you provide set the standard for you co-op. If you have a crisp mission statement and behavior policy, encourage involvement, and communicate well and often with the members - your off to a great start!

Hi ladies . I was wondering if yall had any recommendations for accredited homeschool programs ?
@FreeRangeFamiliesPodcast
@FreeRangeFamiliesPodcast Ай бұрын
So, this completely depends on what you are needing from accreditation. Some sates do not require it. Others, you have to have it for a diploma. Only an educational institution can be accredited. Curriculum alone cannot be accredited; it can only be accredited as part of an institution’s program. For accreditation I would lean toward Abeka.

Love this. A lot of people are really ignorant because they are not educated and they are just used to whatever the government say. People will always talk and have opinions no matter what. I'm starting to learn that and not take it the wrong way if they talked bad about Jesus of course they will say things about us. But thank you once again Britt and Christina love the Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot🤣

I remember going through 2020 “school at home” and thinking I don’t know how ANYONE homeschools. Thank goodness for real homeschool mamas that I stumbled upon that said corrected me and told me that real homeschool is NOTHING like “school at home!”

Raising and protecting your kids these days is a never ending hurdle in society but to find a community that addresses all of those same fears into real conversations is one of it’s own. I’ve never found anything like this when it comes to homeschooling and to say I’m excited and obsessed would be an understatement. So ready for episodes to come and to share with my friends and family!

When it was mentioned that the kids light of loving to learn starts to dim it was so relatable. I saw the light dim in my sons eyes and one of the many many many reasons I decided to homeschool
