I've never not once seen the GW on the river. On lakes of course. They have walked to the bank and instructed me to paddle over to them to check my license and check if I had fish but never gotten pulled over deep on the river and checked. Glad I saw this vid I'll know to be prepared with the docs deep on the river. 😎👍

I was 6 yo. First fish I ever caught in the Brazos was about a 4-5lb gar. My dad laughed his ass off and that dude finished off my clapped out Zebco 202 I was using. As a first grader it was a helluva event.

i am always go fishing at the Possum Kingdom dam. but i didn't go down to the river. is there any fees to pay for camping ..?

if you were in the kimble county area in a little town called junction i know were all the good bass spots are i grew up there got alot of secret spots

Our group decided to go run the Buffalo 12-14 this year. It looks like a good amount of rain in that area this week so we may have to switch back to the good old Brazos. I know your group. The last two year I believe we have launched right behind y’all.

Sorry for the late reply. I usually have good luck with a weightless fluke if you are conventionally fishing. If fly fishing, small bait fish patterns or poppers work good.

How was the water flowing we used to make a weekend out there for a guys kayak fishing trip? Last year it wasn’t flowing enough so we went to Fairfield, this year we are going to Lake Leon

The water is low. Around 50 CFS I believe.

I head that they have been caught until May. Im sure it depends on water temps. I usually switch over to targeting bass by then.

I have really good luck using a size 16 elk hair caddis with a size 20 black zebra midge hanging off the back. Just up stream from the bridge can be good but down river a good ways is where I usually end up.

Their coloration goes further down the body. Also in this area of Texas they stock the regularly.

I have not fished there in the winter months yet. I usually have good luck on olive zebra midge in size 20. I always stop by Beavers Bend Fly Shop and get some intel and flies. It’s right off the river inside the park.

We put in at the second 377 crossings when leaving Junction. Our take out was at our shuttle service South Llano River Canoe & kayaks. They are right off the river before you get the state park. Give them a call and they can get you set up for a trip. 325-446-2220

just came back from there over the weekend, caught 2 rainbows, one on a zebra midge, the other on a hares ear. I was at the spillway though, where was this video taken? tight lines!

We caught a few fish at the spillway and a few others down river. My friend Austin caught a nice Brown a couple hundred yards down river from the spillway on this trip.
