Overall, I would say PVP, yes. PVE in classic not so much because everyone has experience having played it the first time around. In retail PVE, skill is more important in high end content (high mythic raid and high mythic dungeon keys). Any content below that, I feel anyone "can do" with a little effort.

The only time you'll use essence in m+ is if you are healing on the move and need a small heal or if you don't have jadefire stomp up and need your ancient teachings buff active. Zen pulse is good, but like you said you have to press it. If you find that you can't get into the habit of pressing it, you're better off taking a different talent.

Both of them can easily do that key range--even in pugs. I enjoy them both for different reasons. When I want to play ranged, I'll play my rsham. When I want to play a faster, melee playstyle, I'll play my MW. I think right now MW is better for keys, but I think rsham is easier to learn.

Healbot sometimes fail to display dispellable things while vuhdo seems to never miss on that aspect

Everything is a mix of elvui, vuhdo, and weak auras. If you're asking about the party frames to the top left of my frames that would be vuhdo.

I would agree that the changes to healing elixir for people pushing higher content is bad. Why do you feel they're going to suck? They're receiving slight buffs to passive defense and healing, and their tier set isn't too terrible from what testing I've done so far. At the very worst, I would say they'll be slightly better than where they're at now unless Blizzard messes up the tuning.

I appreciate the feedback and perspective. Unless my audio/annunciation is off, I said that PVP requires more skill than PVE due to everything being unpredictable/unexpected. To your point about one shot mechanics, can you give an example of one that doesn't just require you to dodge something or push a defensive--something that I don't think takes that much skill outside of monitoring you defensive usage throughout the course of a dungeon. I'm certainly not arguing that the highest level of players don't have skill, just that people can get there with time and effort.

I think part of the issue in this specific scenario is that the tank wasn't using his active mitigation skills to minimize the big chunks of damage. From the dh perspective, he just really needed to not take that magma wave to the face and he would have been fine 😁. I'm not too familiar with havoc build/stat weights as I've only ever played vengeance.

As a tank, if I receive zero healing the entire dungeon, and I die. Then it's still my fault. Tanks are more self-sufficient than ever before and can reasonably survive big pulls on their lonesome even on 16-17 keys. Tanks should be the absolute last priority for a healer this season. Tried Blood, Druid and Pally. I don't know if this remains true about Warrior or DH, though.

@@Soluxya from my experiences I would agree as long as the tanks are managing their CDs appropriately, it's pretty tough to for at that key level as long as their gear is on par with the content level. I always enjoyed bdk and dh for their self sustain b/c I could rely on myself, but that sustain seems to be pretty good across all tanks now.

True. Even the best players mess up sometimes; however, I think that most players over 2k should have a good enough understanding of the dungeon to dodge most mechanics most of the time.

I feel that I can get behind this general rule of if thumb. I can't think of many times when I could save a person in less than 3 seconds unless I had a DR available to cast.

Lol, I'd argue that everyone's probably got something with sharing, but to your point I unfortunately don't get as much time to play as I'd like between kids and work. The change to m+ where you get zero points for going over time on anything +20 has also been of little incentive for my team to push anything past +20/+21.

@@ejsiy I don't think skill has as much to do with it as the time to work with a committed group to push content unless you're saying that get all of your 22-24 keys done primarily with random pugs, which I find unlikely if you only get less than 30hrs/week to play--unless the only thing you do is run m+ and nothing else. Unfortunately, with 2 kids and an infant my time is limited to less than 15 hrs/week right now, but hopefully, that will increase again once my infant is sleeping through the night 😁. Regardless, thank for the feedback. I'll have to work on rounding out all of my keys on my rsham, which has been my primary main for the last 2 months or so.

That's awesome! I'm a bit skeptical on seeing anyone with minimal time to play able to consistently complete 25s/26s on time in pure pug situations (e.g. random people everyone, no discord, etc.) every week; however, if that's what you have that's great! I'm guessing we'll not agree, but I would argue that skill only matters in the top 5%-10% of PvE content due to the ability to learn mechanics, routes, affixes, etc. I feel that with the exception of PVP and the highest level of PvE, anyone can push considerably high content successfully with enough time and effort with the caveat that they have the desire to spend the time to push that level of content.

That's too bad. Especially, since mistweaver is in a much better position this expansion. I do miss that venthyr ability though. Maybe give it another go with the next season. Hopefully, Blizzard will take all of the feedback and numbers that we're seeing for healers and make some additional positive changes in 10.2.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not sure what tooltip you're referencing. I use 4 primary add-ons for my UI: elvui, vuhdo, weak auras, and omnicd.

If you're referring to the start of the video, the visual is Elvui and the information about the mythic plus key / group on the group finder would be RaiderIO.

Raider.io shows the io score and keys completed when I hover my cursor over any players. The little image with the keystone, timer, and percent complete is a mythic plus timer addon.

I appreciate the feedback and engagement in the content. The damage to heal I think is unfortunately an outcome of mythic +. As long as you have a timer attached to rewards, healers that can dps during downtime is always going to be desired. I think moving MW, HPal, and Disc to this style is also an outcome of that. Most of the others healers can do okay dps with little impact too their rotation e.g. rdruid Sunfire/moonfie, rsham acid rain, etc.

@@schaef_gaming frist of all you are wellcome. And second of all: Have you play holy priest at a high lvl then me? Because my holy Priest with her 443 Gear that be fully haste versa dont deals that much dmg. I only deal 1k dmg or in keys where i have 2 heal nothing 5k overall dmg. Thats why i say the dmg form heals is low ^^

@@kakarottuzumaki4346 I've played hpriest on average keys (15-18) in season 1 and 2. I would agree that their dps is lower than most--if not all--of the other healers; however, you should do okay damage if you're able to keep up shadow word:pain, and holy fire. If you take empyreal blaze and burning vehemence, it will give you good bursts of damage every minute. I want to say that I was averaging 12-15k normally and then upwards of 30-45k with empyreal blaze as long as the pack was at least 5 targets. Again, this really only matters if you're trying to do damage, which doesn't seem to be the case based on your initial comments. It does impact player perception though, but hpriest as still desired more than my MW 😁.

@@kakarottuzumaki4346 well, I think accepting when people die to not dodging mechanics is something we all have to just deal with as healers; we can't control everything. Typically, what I would do is cast my empyreal blaze before or as the tank is pulling, and instant cast my 3 holy fires on the same target the tank initially shot l aggros since the damage will hit up to 5 targets and it shouldn't pull threat. You could also tab target to hit 3 targets with the dot. And then I spread my shadow word:pain as I'm able and use divine star on cooldown for extra damage. If I don't have empyreal blaze, I start targeting everyone with shadow word: pain similar to you start as a disc priest and only hard cast holy fire when I feel safe to not heal. It's never perfect, especially if you aren't playing with a coordinated group.

Yeah, I think it's important (especially in pug situations) to look at your healing and understand whether or not something was actually your fault. If it was, great, learn from it. If it wasn't, then you can realize that and ignore any stupid comments people might throw your way.

I have healed all the old challenge modes with multiple realm best times and done multiple KSM's on several healing classes *all pugging* and I got so frustrated with people early on in my healing journey that I started live logging all my runs and anytime someone had something dumb to say I would just pull up the receipts. Although I only started doing that to clarify any "misunderstandings" with pugs, I quickly found it was a great tool to use to improve my performance. Two birds with one stone.

Evokers are not reactive healers. They are more preparation/proactive healers. In higher keys you have to get your echos out/set up your stasis CD. You could even say shamans are proactive in higher keys too with cloudburst... Also every healer should be doing dps in m+ to make the run faster.

@@damienwyles6515 I never say i play Heal Sharman or Evo at a high key lvl ^^ And y thats why i dont play cloudbrust as a heal shaman ^^ Its anyoning me and be 2 hard proactive what obvuisly isnt my playstyle. And Evo isnt a Proactiv heal XD The Echos be more reactiv and progs some times and can be used 4 healing ^^ So nope nothing with proactiv. More reactiv with a bit shielding ^^ I mean you heal mainly with the breath and outher spells that you aktivates if high amound of dmg cames out. I never have the feeling by playing evo heal that i have 2 set up somthing like the displin must. And that heals should make dmg saw i not in my keys. My keys goes easy intime without i dealing any dmg. This 5 k dmg who cares about? Maxium dmg that a holy can make consistent lays by 25k and this if the holy dont have 2 heal and use his Def abiltlys 4 dealing dmg. Like apotheose 4 dealing dmg. your stronges healing cd that you needs 4 more easy groupe alife. And in many keys have i 2 much 2 do with groupe healing because of the randoms stands in aoe etc. So i have 2 heal them instat form deaaling dmg. What is better? A DD that be alife and deals like 200k or 400k dmg in 1 sec or my 25k dmg? There choice i every time the life of the dd. I have watched my game play multipel times and i dont saw any gap where i can deal dmg. if i deal dmg its possible. if i not do its not possible. i still play it perfectly and get everything out of my class in m+ but still is my dmg not so high that i would say its makes ANY diffrence. its a nice bonus but its like doning no dmg. 2 have this 5k dmg or have it not isnt importent of the success of the key. its fully igorealbe ^^

You clearly do NOT play your class perfectly if youre only having 5k damage at the end of a key. Healer dps makes a huge difference to the timing of a key and success. Youre clearly only doing level 10 keys and below.
