@@RobdeWinterCC How? 😳
@RobdeWinterCC7 ай бұрын
@@anatoz3579 I’m not sure which pen you use, and on what platform (Windows or Mac), but you can use this tip on both platforms. Windows is a bit more difficult, since you’ll have to press the right mouse button on your pen while dragging. On Mac, I use it with my Wacom pen all the time (hold ctrl-option, then press the pen, and drag to the left and right. On windows: hold Alt, and while doing that hold the “right mouse button” on the pen, and then drag left/righth). Hope that helps!

Doesn’t work on the latest beta, photoshop just create entire new images on top
@RobdeWinterCC8 ай бұрын
That’s correct. It’s because of a bug in the beta (it’s still a beta ;-), but the Photoshop team is working on it. If you use the current, non-beta Photoshop build, it still works ☺️

Amazing, thank you...) But i cant understand why it works only with quick mask fill. And it give wrong result if i use standard selection tool. Yaep im noob...)😀
@RobdeWinterCC8 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yes, I can imagine that it looks a bit difficult ;-) With quick mask fill you create a semi-transparent selection. So, when you exit Quick Mask Mode, your selection still 'sees' 30% of the underlying layers, and creates something based on that. If you make a 'normal' selection, Photoshop just makes a random image, because it doesn't see the underlying layers.

Thank you for this video, very well done. The thing I find missing when I watch tutorials about masks, is what happens next? There is never anything about saving, merging, flattening, what? When, how is the mask actually applied?
@RobdeWinterCC9 ай бұрын
Hey Warren, thanks for the nice comment! And, that’s a good question (I got this questions several times before). The cool thing is: you just can leave it as is. So, no merging, no flattening. When you save your file as a PSD, all masks will be included in your Photoshop document. And, when it’s necessary to change something later, just click the layer mask and start editing it again. So yes, it might seem strange, but once the mask has been made, you don’t have to do anything ;-) hope that clarifies a little! 😊

Kan je ook één kleur van de 5 kleurblokjes toevoegen aan je kleurschema?? In canva is dat veel makkelijker
@RobdeWinterCC10 ай бұрын

@RobdeWinterCC Жыл бұрын

Did you have to enable the feature or it was already there with some kind of update? Was checking mine but still no option to do it
@RobdeWinterCC Жыл бұрын
Hey! You don’t have to enable anything, except first updating the app (but you probably have done that already?). Then, it’s important to have a selection. Without a selection, Generative Fill doesn’t appear in the contextual taskbar. I heard someone else who doesn't have the update yet, but it probably appears in the next few days in that case. Hope that helps!

Hey Autumn, in that case, you don't have a semi transparent selection. So, make sure when you go to Quick Mask Mode, to fill the selection with H: 0%, S:0% and B:30%, then go out of Quick Mask Mode again, and try it again. If you skip one step, it doesn't work :-D Hope this helps, have fun!

I'm taking classes to get my undergraduate certificate in graphic design and I just simply DO NOT get masking! I'm hoping your video has helped me. There's just like 1000 steps in photoshop and I'm taking a class in it and I also have another problem where i don't even have photoshop because I have a stupid chromebook that nothing is allowed in it seems like! I didn't know before starting...waiting on the leftover from financial aid to get a different laptop. The teacher told me to try photopea and it's just as hard and different then what I've been learning...I AM SO FRUSTRATED!!!

An excellent handy tip - which is better than usual bracket keys. However, just holding down Alt only brings up the eyedropper on my windows setup - but holding down Ctrl + Alt works perfectly. Thanks

Thanks Kevin! And, exactly: when you’re on a Mac, it’s Ctrl-Option, and on a PC, it’s only Alt. Alt also brings up the eyedropper, but you are still able to drag left/right and up/down with your right mouse button. A bit confusing at first, but it works :-D
