Where are these colors of the Rapala X-Rap Jointed Shad he is using? Like: Firetiger Perch, Hot Perch, Northern Pike, and that White colored Perch one he is using in this video? I always, and only see these colors for the Rapala X-Rap Jointed Shad: Hot Head, Perch, Yellow Perch, Silver, Silver Blue, Clown, Hot Steel, and Gold.

The hooks in this video are for salt water and are really not that sharp. Older models had these junk hooks on them. Swap the hooks out with a quality treble hook and you will get more deep hook sets.

Ive caught 100s of perch and ppike over the years and have had small roach and perch fall out of their mouths or stuck in their throat before... even alive ones..but never anything remotly as disturbing as this, i bet the pike didnt know the size of the eal and just went for the head. Bitten off more than he could chew!!!

NEVER reach for a Pike at the side of the boat, ALWAYS net them. There's no agony like needing to boat flip a ten pound pike using a treble hook embedded in the flesh of your thumb. And then you need to extract the hook from the thrashing fish using only one hand, release the fish, then remove the hook from your other hand. Been there. Again, use a net. Pike will look calm at the boat but they always have another thrashing run in them.

What a noddy. You obviously haven't caught many pike on lures or lack the ability to handle them properly. If you can avoid netting a fish, you do. Hand land, unhook over the side of the boat and release. No need to over handle fish and netting is only for bigger fish, even then, I've chinned 20's where there's flying trebles with no issue. I hardly ever net pike from the boat when lure fishing. Your comments tell me you should maybe consider taking up bream fishing and leave the pike to people who know what they're doing. Jesus wept.

That’s not a shallow version Mick. It still is a good trollingbait by the way. Good clip!

Good vid. I use it short line trolling and glide it over the weed tops. Best way to fish weedy areas.

Great lure for pike, muskies, and walleyes in the northern US. Works great fast, too. I've found putting about 10ft of mono on the business end of the main line and using a rod that is long and not too stiff (medium action) helps to reduce the number of fish who throw the hook, evidently by absorbing the head shakes. And I mash down the barbs on treble hooks for easier unhooking of fish and sometimes myself.

Love this lure! I like it better than the original floater. It is tough and runs true. Problem is that it is very hard the find in stores. Even big places like Cabelas. It is not cheap either. 10-$12 on line.

Easily my favourite lure i have them in all colours and the newer jointed version is good to never mind all the savage gear mass produced off production line moulds these rapala lures are the real deal and will catch pike anywhere and will last you for years
