The CEO Role is Overwhelming and Lonely: Naval emphasizes that the CEO has a taxing set of responsibilities, from managing people to driving strategy, which can lead to burnout, especially for introverted founders. Zone of Genius Concept: Founders should focus on their unique strengths ("Zone of Genius") rather than trying to excel in every aspect of running a company. Delegating non-core responsibilities helps keep their focus and energy intact. People Management Isn't for Everyone: Naval admits he found people management exhausting and felt better suited to roles involving intellectual work and creative thinking, rather than extensive operations. Delegate, Don't Dictate: Rather than controlling every detail, founders should bring in talented operators or CEOs who excel in the areas they dislike, allowing them to focus on high-level strategy and creativity. Founder’s Value Goes Beyond Operations: A founder’s ongoing value comes from maintaining a vision and providing creativity rather than from being involved in daily management tasks. Recruiting Capable Operators: Naval recommends hiring CEOs who are former founders or proven operators, especially those who may have failed due to market factors outside their control, as they often bring strong skills and determination. Freedom Fuels Creativity: Freeing up time in his schedule allowed Naval to remain creative and spot new opportunities, such as the idea of rolling funds, which emerged after he had stepped back. The Importance of Flexibility for Founders: Naval emphasizes the importance of having a flexible schedule, allowing founders to spend time

The one advantage he had in finding these ppl to helm his business is access. They didn't just fall out of the sky into his lap and he didn't just happen upon them at a sports bar, networking event or while picking up the morning paper in the driveway--SO! With (that) all said, how can the *non* (connected) do that? Where do they look for an temp CEO❓️🤔

Whatnot is a scam - they knowingly allow sellers to sell 1:1 or 0:1 dupes of sneakers, clothing, luxury goods, makeup/skincare… they are absolutely silent. They refund the few people who notice and knowingly continue profiting off the ill begotten gains of their fraudulent sellers. They made it harder to report and get refunded once this started coming to light, but they also resell returned counterfeit goods to the sellers to filter back through the system. There’s mass corruption and this video is embarrassing.

Although, Clipboard pays well. I disagree with their policies. There’s no phone number for the clinicians to be able to speak with a representative. They only offer online chat to their employees. As an employee, we should be able to access to a live representative. This platform caters more to the facilities. That’s very unfair…

You require seller giveaways but penalize people who enter them . There is no specific number of giveaways specified that a person can enter. Why do I keep getting blocked then for suspicious giveaway activity? I usually buy when I win a giveaway. My wife and I have spent over 25 k over the last year but due to my 7th time getting unfairly blocked from giveaways I am now boycotting spending on your app. You are clearly violating my rights according to state sweepstakes laws

Really loved this. I think David calling out the founders identity piece at the end, re/Faiths diagram really hit home for me too. That was probably one of my own failures, again like David I consider myself a builder but should have probably morphed my perspective earlier into being a builder of teams rather than of features.

I’m a fCoS working 2 different firms, I find myself being super successful in one of the firms i’m supporting and somewhat failing on the other, of the biggest sticking point I’ve had is access to my executive, I couldn’t agree more, that just doing special projects tends to limit my capacity to support my exec, because of the lack of context on upcoming projects and key decisions on why were’ doing such and such. Instead of being a force multiplier, I end up being a bottleneck. -Nash C, fCoS, ex-McKinsey

Thanks for sharing Grant! I am not a marketer, but have worked closely with marketing and what you are referring to is your classic segmentation - who are your buyers, what are their behaviors, values etc. Segmentation is the work of skilled statisticians and data scientists. I am a huge fan of Whatnot as a buyer and seller.
