If you find the correct balance between gravity and terminal velocity you could probaly jump from very tall heights and be perfectly fine if you dont exceed a certain mile an hour. But adding wings to this whole operation could gain great distances. Very very interesting.

Not that's something that looks like a lot of fun. There was someone in the 70's that made an aluminum framed mini-dirigible that could lift about 100 pounds for this same purpose. I remember reading about it in a Popular Science or some such magazine. If I remember it worked fairly well but was a nuisance in rough or treed terrain. Glad to see the idea is still around - this looks a much better approach.

I seen a sign at a major super market store the other day (May 2024) that said, "Due to helium shortage in the nation, they would not be giving out free balloons to kids anymore for awhile"...so while this might be a good idea, the helium might be expensive for it.

Now ballast that with another balloon and you don't need props....
