I have many Jewish friends, but none of them are Zionists, thank God.

I really love this. I grew up with parents who spoke Yiddish because they came from a shtetl near Vilnius. I am so grateful to have this fluency. I wish I could have passed it down but my kids heard English at home. I love to listen to you speak. Love to be in touch.

The voices of the dead cry out through the centuries. They call from the depths of the earth in Bełżec, from the ashes of Auschwitz-Birkenau, from the bodies scattered in the forests of Sobibor, and from the ruins of Warsaw. Their cry is silent, but louder than ever. It calls for truth, for justice, for memory that must not be allowed to die. Poland - a proud country, an indomitable country, a country that never bowed to tyranny - was thrown into a hell it did not create. On September 1, 1939, German bombs fell on our cities, tearing apart not only homes but also the hope for a peaceful life. For six years, Poland drowned in the blood of its citizens, murdered, burned, starved in German extermination camps. These were not "Polish camps," as some try to lie today. They were German death camps - planned, built, and operated by Germans. There were no Polish ghettos - there were German ghettos. There were no Polish gas chambers - there were German gas chambers. There were no Polish death marches - there were German death marches. There was no Polish genocide - there was German genocide. HOLOCAUST AGAINST THE POLES! The only thing Polish was the suffering, the victims, and the losses. 5,300,000 Polish citizens murdered by Germans. Women, children, the elderly - all sentenced to extermination because Poland was meant to disappear from the map of the world. Not as an occupied country, but as a country annihilated. This was not an ordinary war. It was a machine of systematic genocide, planned in the cold offices of German officials and carried out with the precision only a man devoid of conscience could achieve. After the war, it seemed that justice would triumph. The Nuremberg Trials were supposed to judge the perpetrators. Supposed to - but many of them never faced trial. Many lived in prosperity, built careers, and constructed the new Germany while their victims lay in nameless graves. Many Germans escaped punishment, but that was not the end of their crimes. Because another crime followed - the erasure of memory. The transformation of "German crimes" into "Nazi crimes." But who were the Nazis? Where did they come from? Did they fall from the sky? Did they arrive from another world? No - they were Germans. Soldiers of the Wehrmacht, SS officers, officials, engineers, doctors, professors. Ordinary people who had one common trait - they were citizens of the Third German Reich. Today, when someone says "Polish concentration camps," they kill the victims a second time. They spit on their memory, reverse the guilt, and shift the burden from the shoulders of the executioners to the shoulders of the victims. This is not an accident. It is a deliberate, cynical manipulation intended to whitewash the perpetrators and blur their responsibility. It is yet another evil that grows in the soil of forgetfulness. But we do not forget. We will never allow the lie to triumph. The fight for historical truth is not only a duty to those who perished - it is an obligation to future generations. Because if we allow the lie to stand today, tomorrow it will become fact. And then others will come and say that perhaps Poland was to blame. Perhaps the victims were not as innocent as they seem? Perhaps this was not genocide, but merely a "war tragedy"? No! We will not allow Germany to hide its guilt behind a fog of terminology and political correctness. We will not allow "German camps" to become "anonymous camps." We will not allow the 5,300,000 murdered Poles to be forgotten. Every false designation, every attempt at relativization, every attempt to shift the blame onto Poland is another attack on our history. But we are ready to fight - because historical memory is not just the past. It is the foundation of our identity, our future, our strength. Truth is one. Truth is sacred. Truth will not die - as long as we live.

So the 2 state solution according to that idiot on the left is one state for the Arabs, clear of Jews, and ANOTHER state that the Jews have to share with the Arabs and commit demographic suicide by becoming a minority, losing their sovereignty, and letting it inevitably become another fundementalist Islamic state, either through a democratic process or a more likely scenario of a bloody civil war. Nice. Just one question: Why is it that only one side has a right to self determination? Weird how that works.

When he quoted John Oliver, he conveniently deleted the part about how the settlements were in violation of international law, that is, the Geneva Convention, which prohibits an occupying power from colonizing the land. Even Israel's own top foreign affairs legal counsel, Theodor Meron, said so. All the settlements are illegal.

Or maybe there is some kind of missspelling the word "farkokht" since the old days. In german we would say somethink that would be equal to "er iz varkukht in ir" - swap the O into an U. "Er hat sich in ir varkukht" = so he cannot take his eyes from her. Maybe you can compare it from its meaning to "varbisn" (Like a wolf who is varbisn to a deer, varkukhen has the same effect when you take it from the wordly meaning - you cannot let off).

Is it possible the yiddish words of the NY community has a big influence from jewish people who came from europe, especially from southern germany in the time of worldwar 2? I don't speak yiddsih, I come from western germany but I think I can hear the typical southern german pronounciation and words like "veyber" or " stybl". A "Stybl" or Stübl is the room in a house that is like a livingroom but has the best furniture and which is usually not in use for everyday useage, more like a representive room. Sounds logic to use it for ceremonial and religiouse things. Thanks for your great content. I thought I would never visit the USA, an article in the "Jüdische Allgemeine" about the special NY community and most of them speaking yiddish made me curious.

We open most of our weekly Yiddish Club meetings (every Monday at 2 PM EST on Zoom) with one of Rukhl's YWOTD lessons, and used this one today, Jan. 6, 2025. In light (pardon the pun) of the solar New Year having eclipsed other topics, we watched this one today. אַ שיינעם דאַנק, Rukhl and the Forward staff, for these delightful videos, from Yoseyfa in Allentown, PA.

God must be antisemitic. Kings 1 9 4-9 “As for you, if you walk before me faithfully with integrity of heart and uprightness, as David your father did, and do all I command and observe my decrees and laws, 5 I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’ 6 “But if you[a] or your descendants turn away from me and do not observe the commands and decrees I have given you[b] and go off to serve other gods and worship them, 7 then I will cut off Israel from the land I have given them and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. Israel will then become a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples. 8 This temple will become a heap of rubble. All[c] who pass by will be appalled and will scoff and say, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’ 9 People will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the Lord their God, who brought their ancestors out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them-that is why the Lord brought all this disaster on them.

It was satisfying seeing osyen cause I was assuming if there was a germanic form there had to be a slavic form cuz most jews I've known in america were not related to germans nor austrians or dutch et cetera, but rather russians and ukrainians and belarusians et cetera.
