If the college football playoff happened in 1998 the four teams would be 1 Tennessee 2 Florida state 3 Florida 4 Texas A&M Ohio state makes the new year's six

This might be a controversial opinion but I think the bcs era was better than the playoffs.. and the system before the bcs might have been better to..
@haroldfarquad6886 Жыл бұрын
Uhh I don't think so on that second part. 97 was a joke with Michigan and Nebraska sharing the title because they weren't matched up. 94 Penn State deserved a shot at the title. Then even in the BCS era, the 04 season was silly not letting an undefeated SEC champ in Auburn have a shot. USC and LSU shared the 03 title, again pretty stupid. 07 was... just a cluster of a season that would have been a good candidate for a playoff. Then 2011, although I think the BCS game featured the two best teams in the country, the fact it was a rematch of a divisional game rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. That was a great year for a playoff to prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt that LSU and Bama deserved to be there. The four team playoff is ideal, IMO. There are 3-4 truly elite teams any given year, and letting them duke it out on the field instead of the polls is a good system, despite the fact it's produced some predictable snooze fests in the first round. But don't get me started on the recently announced expansion to 12 teams. That is an absurd model for college football... there's no reason to have the 12th ranked team in the country get boat raced for the sake of a participation trophy. They're going to devalue the appeal of college football and the drama of meaningful regular season games. College football is more interesting than the NFL for a reason, and they're destroying it for money.
@Hunter877882 жыл бұрын
I honestly kinda miss the bcs system.. it's interesting that Tennessee won the very first bcs national championship but hasn't won a national championship or even been to a national championship game sense.. I guess I understand why the playoffs happened the bcs didn't have enough spots for teams.. but you could go back to the old way national titles were awarded like multiple teams claim one the same does sometimes help but many controversial arguments happen that way to.. it's also kinda complicated where old national championship claims come from are from different groups of people who thinks who was won the national title that year and that's where the old national titles come from they technically aren't fictional even if the NCAA doesn't recognize some of the schools claims they were still awarded by a different group..

What a shame you Vols have to go back 25 years to find any sort of a highlight reel! So how does it feel to be the lowest of the ' bottom feeders' in the SEC now? You better get used to being called the " New Vandy" because that's as good as it will ever be on good ole Floppy Top from now on..! Hahaha 😁

@@mellowords Don't worry. You Vols are doing better now than the previous season. This year you are like a little child that just got the training wheels off the bike, and you're wobbling down the road with your Dad running alongside. Eventually there is a possibility that you will learn to steer for yourself, and make turns, etc! It won't be next season against the Dawgs, but maybe one day in the distant future! LoL!
