I've watched a bunch of your build series. They pop up in my feed from time to time. I'm curious how you financed this build. Is this your bike or a customer's bike or is there a ton of sponsorships? I'm looking to do a build series for a V4S this winter. But it's all personally financed. Not quite sure how yet, but I've been saving. Lol!

This build was all from my own money. I wish to have sponsorships one day. Hopefully soon. This is my bike, and as I saved up enough bike funds, I would add something new to the build. Behind the scenes, I had and still have a few other bikes, smaller projects that I work on, and fix up to sale for a profit, which helped fund this build and future projects.

You're probably having trouble pressurizing the rear brake properly because it's an underslung caliper. The proper way to bleed a brake like that is to unbolt the caliper and flip it so that the bleeder is at the highest point while you're bleeding.
@MotoGarageTV
@MotoGarageTV 5 күн бұрын
Thanks for the tip. But I've tried just about every technique there is. When I first bled the system, I pulled the rear tire off, unbolted the caliper, I hung it up near the seat, and forced fluid from the caliper into the fluid reservoir.

Nice work in all these videos. Appreciate the attention to detail. Where did you get that low profile pressure switch for the clutch? @MotoGarageTV

The pressure switch came with the master when ordered. I purchased from motomillion.com. location is optional. The only thing to keep in mind would be the wire connections. You would need to extend the wire, obviously to said locations. Are you just trying to hide the fitting?

The Haynes manual suggests leaving the master cylinder connected and pumping out the pistons (two at a time) with it. Makes sense if you don't have access to compressed air.
@MotoGarageTV
@MotoGarageTV Ай бұрын
That's a good way as well. It does get a little complicated once you have one side out. Piston pliers work well if you do not have a compressor. I plan on uploading a video in the next few days to go over that way as well. Thanks for the tip.

Technically, yes, but you will create problems over time. Without a thermostat, the engine may struggle to reach its optimal operating temperature. An engine running too cold can be less efficient, resulting in poor fuel economy and increased emissions.

Love those wheels! Have you taken weights to compare before and after on everything you've done? Also, quick question not relating to wheels. I have to flush brake and clutch fluid. Is the same fluid used for both? Seems that's what I'm gathering so far.
@MotoGarageTV
@MotoGarageTV 2 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks. I appreciate that. I did not take weights prior, I'm kicking myself for that. I have the steel bearings, which I can weigh those, but I never took the weight on the ceramic ones to compare. I was doing this mainly for the lower resistance and longer life span. They spin so freely. The lighter weight was a plus. Yes, both fluids are the same. Thanks again.

I just stumbled on your channel the other day. I have a 2016 959 I'm doing very basic mods to just to get some experience before I go buy the V4S. From the looks of it, you did to your V4 what I have envisioned for my build. Meanwhile, on my 959, I've been having a bitch of a time getting carbon fiber parts that actually fit! I get it, some tweaking has to be done but between two different companies, neither have made a rear hugger that works and it's costing me a lot of time, money and patience. (Ironically, the exhaust heat shield that was custom red and black CF fit perfectly!) I'm seeing your CF fairing. Was there much work you had to do to make it all fit right?
@MotoGarageTV
@MotoGarageTV 2 ай бұрын
Actually, I have not had any issues with the Carbon Fiber Parts except the ignition cover piece. That was the only piece of carbon fiber that I had to fight to get on. Other than that, everything bolted on like factory parts. 90% of the Carbon Fiber is made by fullsix. I purposely went through one supplier for that reason. The only other brand was V4evo.com that made the winglets. Fairings are from Fullsix produced by Vulturbike.com

Why do i not see extended forks for sale or videos for v4 its like they dont exist but i know there alot of people out there that need longer forks because the ride is unbearable for taller people. Someone has to make em cause lower links arent enough.
@MotoGarageTV
@MotoGarageTV 2 ай бұрын
Very true, but adding length to your forks changes the geometry of the bike, and my guess is people don't want to mess with that and deal with the issue. I'm 5'11" and fit just fine. It's a very aggressive riding angle just by design, but I can understand if you are 6'+ it being uncomfortable.

Hi, nice video. Just a question, just rebuilt mine but I saw in the shop manual that the oil seal is supposed to be installed against the bearing what I first didi jut then the bearing hat resistance due to the contact with the seal, so I installed it like you did, but what is the correct way to install it?
@MotoGarageTV
@MotoGarageTV 2 ай бұрын
Hey, sorry for getting back to you so late. I would say go with the manual to be safe. However, the seal should not make contact with the bearing. You will run the risk of the seal prematurely wearing out and allowing oil to pass through. Go with what works. I have been running without issues ever since the upload of this video.

Hi, no problem thanks for the answer. I had my two first trackdays last week and yesterday and after both I noticed an oil leak at the weep hole. I did it like you in the video because juste like you said when I put it in like the manual says it makes contact with the bearing and you can really feel it how it's making it difficult to rotate. I hope it's just some oil residue from the installation otherwise I can go for a whole rebuild since the oil seal is hard to get out without removing the other parts sitting arround
@MotoGarageTV
@MotoGarageTV 2 ай бұрын
@stevebirkenkampf1632 hopefully it's not leaking, and it's just build-up like you said. If it is leaking, double check that the seal was installed in the correct direction and that it's not compromised. Check and make sure the shaft is not bent. Let me know how it goes.

@@MotoGarageTV will be riding 2 more trackdays this weekend I'll let you know. And yes I checked, everything is installed like it should be. During the rebuild I even put a very thin coat of TB1215 on the oil seal (on the outside of course, not on the inside where the shaft goes) and it's seated very well, can't even push it out of position with a screw driver so that should be good. And shaft is new, I polished the old one to remove as much rust and dirt as I could but since it already had picking corrosion I said okey let's just put a new shaft aswell so I won't have to worry about the old shaft damaging the new seal
