Empathy is understanding someone else's feelings while sympathy is feeling sorry for someone. Nice to see more Frieren reactions from you!
@Bold3n25 күн бұрын
Yeah, I know the difference between those two, but I would say that it must be pretty difficult to hurt or kill somebody you empathize with because you understand their pain or feelings in a personal way. But in the case of sympathy, it is a lot more superficial. You can feel compassion or pity for somebody without necessarily getting emotionally involved, so I would guess that it's easier to hurt them. I don't know; I just find it really interesting how a character that tends to kill people pretty easily can be empathetic. I definitely like her more after this episode. And yeah, I haven't been uploading too many videos lately. I've been lazy, lol, but I plan on finishing Frieren, Mushoku, and DanDaDan 100%.

I love that Denken's fight with Frieren really was a combat lesson. Denken realized he needed to end the fight quickly so he used an AOE fire spell to force Frieren to cast a completely full sphere defense spell, which would deplete a normal mages mana pool very quickly. What Denken didn't realize was that Freiren was suppressing her mana, fooling him like she fools demons. Frieren just waited the spell out and when he switched to saturation attacks to pin her and keep depleting her mana (just like Fern earlier did to Ehre), she did a counter attack to the other side of Denken. This distracted Denken and made him look away from Frieren to block the attack and Frieren immediately rushed up right into his face. Denken froze for a second in surprise, allowing Frieren to blast him, ending the fight. My take on needing a mage of peaceful times to defeat the demon lord was because a mage can only do what they can fully visualize and imagine. A mage that can only imagine fighting cannot imagine the result of defeating the demon lord, an age of peace, they can't completely imagine the demon lord being defeated, so they can't do it.

I actually get a little choked up whenever I see the part after the barrier is broken and Kanne can use the rain to show her full potential. She's a meh character overall, but this moment showed just how strong a specialist in their field can be under the right conditions. Frieren's acknowledgment that even she can't imagine beating her in the rain just solidifies that even more.

They were trying to steal it because, only a minute prior to actually finding a stille of their own, he was saying the test ends in a couple hours. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I LOVE looking up words and translations of things I don't know about or how to pronounce them. I feel dumb when I say things wrong so I usually try to look them up right away. The translation of words is getting so good nowadays, I'll copy/paste comments from other languages just to find out what others are saying. It's definitely one of the better features of the internet that too many people don't seem to take advantage of. We're getting so close to Star Trek's universal translator😁

@@ntsuka4568 I'm not making fun of you. I'm asking why you are so mad. I didn't change any names. You blame others for translation problems. "葬送(sousou)" is a noun meaning "to send the deceased to the cemetery." Frieren has seen off comrades like Himmel and Heiter to their graves (until the end). in the anime, she saw off Heiter's death to the grave together with Fern. In the eyes of the demons, however, "葬送" means being killed by her and sent to the cemetery. That's why she is called "Frieren the Slayer," as she has killed many demons and buried them in the cemetery. Ask Kanehito Yamada why she allowed the name to be different for the anime instead of blaming everyone else.

This episode seemed kind of a filler compared to others and served mostly as just a goodbye for Sein. The ED seems to be just the 2nd verse of Milet's song "Anytime Anywhere". I should have not said anything about your edits for DanDaDan as you've already changed your format a bit. You added some music and your edits are snappy and quick! I learned editing in high school back in the mid '90's when technology was changing from VHS to non-linear digital editing. I didn't pursue a media career like I thought I was going to, but the software for editing nowadays seems to be crisp and easy to use. It can be hard work but I hope you're at least having fun cuz it seems like it would be.🙂

This anime is so fun! I have some constructive criticism for you so please don't take it too harshly. Firstly, you said that everything happens so fast that you can't afford to miss anything.. but you talk a lot during the show and look away to pour your drink. Just pause and edit it later. I don't think it matters if you make a successful prediction of what's going to happen, we want to see how you react to what you're seeing. I know the purpose is to have some commentary, but I'd never be able to watch anything with someone who speaks during a show lol. You are attentive most of the time and a lot of your questions get answered really fast by the show itself, so it wasn't worth saying something beforehand. I know editing can probably be a pain as I've little experience myself, but editing is like a magic spell for the viewer. That all being said, I'll still be around for your reactions cuz you watch a lot of the stuff I like and you're solid otherwise.😁

Don't worry about being too harsh, I've been wanting feedback for a while, to be honest, haha. I've been working on improving the videos, but without feedback, it's difficult to know what I should focus on, so your comment is really helpful. I'm always worried about not talking enough in my videos, so you saying that I talk a lot is definitely a perspective changer, haha. It's funny because when I watch something with friends, I hardly talk at all, but when I'm recording, I try to say everything that's on my mind. Thank you very much for the feedback! I'm going to keep those things in mind from now on. And anytime you think there's something I can improve, don't hesitate to comment, this type of feedback is really helpful.

@@Bold3n That's great to hear! I was worried that you may have taken it personally and been upset, or if you only did these videos for fun. I'm sure you've watched other reaction videos before so you have some idea of what you are doing. As far as editing goes, that's just going to take time and practice to find the right balance. If you are talking about something, like during the intro or outro, or even while paused and breaking down a scene, remember that you want to get your point across effectively and efficiently. If you are stumbling over words or trying to think of the right thing to say, just edit out those areas of "dead air". FLEXIEJAYANIME is a new reaction channel I've been also watching Frieren videos of and her edits are a good example. They're very quick and you can see her get her message across fast, despite having a lot to say. Auto Save channel and JDAnime are others I have been watching this year, but since those are 2 people together, it's a different experience because they can bounce ideas off each other.

Fern was about 8 when Frieren first came to visit Heiter. She was training with her around 4-5 years before Heiter passed. Episode 3 was her 16th birthday. Episode 5, when they leave Eisen to set out for Aureole, she mentions to Frieren that she's spent half of her life with her. I think she's about 18 now, Stark being only slightly older as his 18th birthday was episode 12. It's funny how the etiquette training was like hell for Stark and Fern, but they stayed in a castle for a few months, sleeping in nice beds and eating good meals and sweets for free, then got paid a years worth their own food and snacks in gold, as well as a grimoire. Seems like a great deal to me! Now about you mentioning the opening staying the same.. 🤔

Yay new person enjoying my favorite show!! To help understand the setting: This show is based off of the Cold War Era! I think Spy Family would be around late 1960’s to early 1970’s. Twilight is from the West (Westalis) but he’s inside the East’s (Ostania’s) Capital city Berlint. Ostania is supposed to be modeled after Soviet-allied East Germany. That’s why they are very strict with how they portray themselves as upstanding citizens with family values in public (also why this school is very strict with ‘perfect’ families). If you are too suspicious, ppl will report you to the police that you might be a spy. They have to be perfect; government is watching them. Which is why I love the forger family because they are ALL NOT NORMAL but it doesn’t matter because you can still have the same love as one 👏🏼 They somehow make their Not-Normal into normal for themselves. 💗

Rudeus's nickname "Quagmire" is the same as the pervy neighbor from Family Guy. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but it's certainly fitting for how he is now. There is some content from the light novel during this that was cut from the anime. There is a lot more back-story from Sara's perspective and her past that explains why she is the way she is around Rudeus, as well as after this event that changes how she perceives him. I never read the LN but I did watch a lot of videos that were specifically designed to fill in the story gaps the anime left out.

Of all the questionable actions in this series, treating Roxy's panties the way he does isn't one of them. He was in his mid 30's when he died, was a virgin and never had a girlfriend. She also helped him get over a lot of the trauma he carried with from the previous world. In a way, she's like a first love in his mind and he basically worships the thought of her. He is a teenager in this body now, so he's around age 50 mentally. Roxy is a demon who lives close to 200 years and is in her 40's. She knows that he stole her panties, as she mentioned it in a letter to him back in season 1. We see a teenage boy and a loli girl visually, which understandably is supposed to make us uncomfortable when anything sexual is mentioned. Also remember that in Japan, for a very long time, the age of consent was 13. While it very recently changed to 16, many generations grew up with 13 being the norm. It'll be a while before the art from Japan gradually changes to reflect this. The thoughts I have about why there is so much sexuality in this series is because of the person Rudeus was before dying. He was a perverted person who probably shouldn't be given any second chances at life. He was also bullied, tormented and abused by everyone in his school, in a much harsher way than anyone should be. He lived at home with his parents til his 30s and never had a job, just played games, read books and watched porn. He was only kicked out after his parents died and he didn't even go to their funeral. Quite a shitty person. Given that information, I feel the purpose of him being sent to this other world is not just a second chance, but more like a test specifically designed for him. As if the gods or God is putting all these encounters in front of him just to see what decisions he makes and if he learns to value others in a new way. Unlike other Isekai which are mostly just happy, positive, overpowered protagonists who only take the good things from their previous life with them to the new world, this one almost seems like Purgatory.. the place in-between Heaven and Hell. It's a long post, but I really like how this anime doesn't shy away from tackling serious issues. And yeah, the animation is ❤🔥, too!

Frieren didn't realize that Himmel was in love with her. "Elves lack romantic feelings and reproductive instincts." Frieren is comparing the interactions she's had in the past with current ones. As Fern said in ep.3, "You really don't understand human feelings, do you?" When she was on the rooftop watching Fern and Stark shopping, she was truly trying to understand the relationship dynamic between them. Sein was up there because he sort of represents us, the viewer. In this series, Sein is weird because he's normal compared to them. The bracelet given to Fern is that of a mirrored lotus in bloom, meaning their love will come to be or is happening. The ring is that of a mirrored lotus bud, meaning that the love hasn't happened yet, or may never. When Himmel was putting the ring on Frieren's finger, the clock between them in the background symbolizes that time is the only thing separating them.

Priest magic will be explained more in an upcoming episode. The "aversion to one's own kind" to Frieren wasn't just the reluctance to go on a journey, but that she and Sein are both geniuses. As a person who is not a genius, I assume it's similar to just not liking someone who is the same as you. Sein being the only person who is unaffected by Frieren's seduction technique is my favorite part of this episode.

All the dialogue in the garden and at the noble gathering was like code. The discussion about sweets was referring to Ariel's secret meetings, ambitions to rule the kingdom (as 2nd princess) and other political intrigue that's beyond my understanding. Basically, her brother (the blonde guy who liked her singing) is on to her trying to get more power within the family and kingdom to overthrow (coup d'tat) the current power. Even with English as my first language, it's confusing to try to decipher it but there were some key words, like "sumptuous cake crowned with berries" to imply being Queen.. I think. I get the idea of it all, just not the specifics. This is why there was an assassin sent after her. Fitz (Sylphie) has power because Rudeus taught her not just magic but she's also able to cast spells without incantations. I first watched Mushoku Tensei from start to finish this past spring, so it's fairly fresh in my mind still. I think it's one of the best Isekai's out there for embracing extremely flawed people and the decisions they make. Nobody is perfect. The world they are in is, as a character will later point out, morally ambiguous. A lot of people don't like this anime because it clashes with ideals and world-views we have. Keep in mind that this is an entirely different world and the effort the author went to create this universe is pretty amazing, like inventing a whole new language for races there. Also keep in mind that, when you finish the season, you should watch some anime channels that focus on what the light novels had that weren't brought into the anime. There are some controversial moments that would be received differently if certain aspects of the story were included from the books. Looks like I'll be hanging around your channel a bit since you're watching both of my favorite anime of this year, along with Frieren!

I'm super glad you caught the "words left by the grandmother" from the little village chief. It's such a minor thing, but everyone seems to overlook it. The issue with Stark is not that he's a coward, it's that he has extremely low self-worth. His memories were from a perspective of someone who has always failed in the eyes of others. He begins by telling us that nobody cared for him and that he never received praise from Eisen. We see those memories from a new perspective this episode. In the flashback of his brother when he was at the cave of the Hero's Sword, that's who he thinks of as a hero apart from Himmel. He doesn't see himself as a hero. So he didn't try. He's always trying to be a good person and help others because of Himmel and his brother Stoltz, but he can't shake his own humility. I cry a little every time I see this episode. Also, now that we have the basic history of the original group.. The Hero's Party who defeated the Demon King consists of: Himmel the Fake Hero Heiter the Corrupt Priest Eisen the Cowardly Warrior Frieren the Dishonorable Mage
